My 2 oldest children went to this school. My oldest daughter is dyslexic and they were less than helpful. The only year my daughter didn't cry and fight about going to school was in kindergarten. They were wonderful with my son, but he only went there in kindergarten. I found it apalling that no matter what grade your child is in, they will come home with at least 1 hour of homework. I had a newborn to take care of so trying to deal with a newborn, at least 2 hours of homework, cook dinner and give baths get kids to bed was nearly impossible. I was so happy to move away from PVE and Wentzville school district

my son just started at PVE after being in a private school for kdg. He loves it and so do we...could not be happier with our choice.

The new principal is AWESOME! The school will also be reducing it's number of students by half next year as they have built a new school opening in the Fall of 2010. This will reduce the student/teacher ratio and have a positive impace on both schools. My child has had wonderful teachers and a great education here. The Horizons programs is a great addition as well for students who need to be even more challanged (the 'gifted' program).

Now that we have a new Principal. I think it will be alot better now. I'm hoping for a better school year for 2009-2010 for my daughter.

I love this school and staff. The front office staff is very welcoming these days. We all have seen huge improvement over the first couple of years at PVE. We have to believe that having Dr. O leary for two consecutive years has to do with that! Thank you Dr. O Leary for even coming back to our school! You have done what most haven t. Consistency is very important in every job, even more so when it has to do with your children. Parents, students and staff have now really gotten to know each other. It really is nice to send your child to a school where you feel he/she is known and is part of a school family. PVE just a couple of years ago, was like going to a new school each year for students, parents and even the staff. I am so happy how PVE is changing. With Parent Support and District Support we will be a wonderful school with Spirit!

I have two children currently attending PVE and have been very pleased with their education and learning environment. The greatest predictor of any child's success is their own parental involvement, so if you couple parental involvement with the school involvement, your child will not fail. PVE preaches and encourages parental involvement through various levels and areas of volunteering. We, as parents, have to get involved to help our children succeed. We can't lay the burden on just the educators. I feel that PVE does a fantastic job of inviting us to get involved. It's up to us to make that choice. Dr. O'Leary and her staff want involved parents but will not allow 'slackers' to get in the way of our children's learning. Thank you Dr. O'Leary, for not settling for mediocracy and pushing the faculty, staff, students, and parents to be their best and only settle for their best!

I love my School!!! It is so hard for a school to start up and make something of itself and I know are school is on its way. We have a principle who loves what she does and staff who are getting the job done. In order for a parent to fully appreciate the school it takes time. You have to walk into school go to meetings, see what's up. We have great activities and the kids are happy and learning...isn't that whats important?

Prairie View is a wonderful school. I am so disappointed in these reviews. Parent involvement is VERY strong at this school. I have done several popcorn parties for classrooms there this year and a few donut parties! The PTO had monthly meetings that are open to everyone. They put events together like Trick Or Trunk, Breakfast with Santa, Book Fairs, Buzz Book, Dr. Seuss Week, Box Tops Collections, Staff Appreciation, Spirit Wear, Great Skate Nights, and more. Parents are the ones that shop for families in need over the holidays! They have an event going on almost every single month at this school. The Principals are wonderful, very welcoming and caring. The staff is exceptional! Loving, caring and thoughtful! The school is beautiful and VERY clean. My husband and I could not be happier with the education our children are getting!

Our daughter is in 2nd grade and has been attending this school for two years. The faculty and staff is fantastic. You couldn't ask for a more nuturing environment. We highly recommend this school. I am unaware of any problems at this school and shocked by these reviews.

I think PVE is a great school! My daughter switched from Crossroads to PVE this year. Im very pleased with the teachers their and the staff. We miss some of the staff at Crosssraods but, the atmosphere a PVE is so much better then I could of even hoped for. I pray that PVE grows and keeps the the lovely staff they have now!!

I think PVE is a great school. The teachers, administrators, and custodial staff care about the children very much. Any time I have contacted a staff member about a concern, they have responded timely and courteously. I know my children are safe and are receiving a quality education.

My child has been going to this school for 2 years now and he really enjoys his days at Prairie View. I love the all call system they have in place to keep the parents informed of what is happening at the school. It really comes in handy when the students have a snow day, etc. What a great idea! I think the staff is wonderful and very caring. As a parent I always feel welcome as soon as I enter the building. My son loves his school and has made wonderful friends. I know he is very safe and well cared for while at Prairie View. My husband and I could not be happier.

This is the third year of chaos at Prairie View. Again, there is a new principal. The times that I have had to confer with her, lead me to believe that her agenda is about her not the well-being of the students. This school has students with , out of control behaviors that are a danger to all. Your child will witness bullying, inappropriate language, desks and chairs being thrown, stealing, fighting and very little discipline. My child witnesses this everyday. The staff is so busy trying to keep up with the bad behaviors that the honor roll students and children who want to exceed go by the wayside. The new principal is clueless when it comes to the needs of the staff and students. I feel sick everyday that I send my child there.

For this being the first year of school, I was very dissapointed in the staff, academics, teachers etc... The overall experience was less than desireable. The principal was more interested in making herself look good as opposed to focusing on the students and their needs. It was pure chaos the entire year. i feel the only good thing about this school is the NEW principal, maybe he can turn this school around and make it a great one.
