Great school for parents who want to be involved with their kids. I have lunch often with my son and help out with all the book fairs and other family night fairs. Teachers are friendly and down to earth. Will miss the small town atmosphere when we leave here. It's what you make of it anywhere though. 7 out of 10 sounds about right.

We have moved to Holloman AFB, NM and now I appreciate Whiteman Elementary! The teachers are better and care more. Mrs. Mackey wasn't awesome but a much better principal then what we have here. There is a dedicated art and music teacher for the school which you don't find often in New Mexico! Be happy for what you have because you could be somewhere withour all the benefits/classes.

This school does not perform well. My daughter came from a very large elementary school to this one and has become behind in Math. From going from one year to the next the teachers did no review her records to see she needed help. She also has a problem being bullied in school and the school does not seem to care. The school allows the students to bring snacks to school. The have been enforcing a rule that snacks had to be healthy. Yet they award student performance with candy. This last week my son's class was going on a field trip. They were going to walk there. My son had been just taken off crutches for a bad sprain but did not question the .5 mile walk. The school has been know to take students on field trips to the school in town without parental permission.
