This is an amazing school. Such caring staff from the moment you walk in and meet Athena to the teacher who for third grade we had Mrs. Cole. The principal is always around and talking to the students and the caring environment is felt everywhere. Morning Milers club (walking club) gets kids moving and great lunches are served everyday. We came from a private school to Cox and we couldn't believe how well run this place is. Good job CUBS!

We have recently moved to Henderson from out of state. We were very nervous moving to a new school after leaving such an amazing school in GA. The registration process was very smooth and the office staff (while minimal during the summer) were very professional. They really love their school and you can tell they believe in the school. I'm excited for my son to experience his last year of elementary at David Cox. Since we've not met the principal or teachers yet, I'm giving 3 stars for now, but I'm sure the number will rise throughout the school year.

NOTHING TO ENVY FROM A PRIVATE SCHOOL. My child always was in a private setting (day care, preschool and kindergartner) and I hesitated on sending him to a public school, but we made the right decision. He is finishing 1st grade with Ms Testa and she is great, professional, educated, friendly and she challenges the kids all the time. The principal Ms Imboden is great and very involved with the kids and families, the administrative staff is friendly and very helpful. We as a parents are very involved on activities and we feel like a big family. This is a small/medium size school but I feel safe on living my kid there. The safe key program is wonderful and the staff is friendly and they help the kids with homework, they promote reading and keep them busy playing outside or indoors. We are proud of being part of this amazing school!

Outstanding school...New principal this year but she seems to be ready to take on the challenge. Great PTA, teachers, students, and office staff!

David M. Cox is the hidden gem of Green Valley. The teachers and staff are extremely involed and the PTA is amazing! My children have so much Cox Cub pride, they are truly at home and safe at this school. The education is great and the principal and staff truly care about the students.

We love this school! It is very educated, fun, and silly. The teachers are the best!
I absolutely love this school. The teachers and Mr. Westendorf (principle) are excellent. I feel that my son is completely safe. He had Ms. Popeck for Kindergarten and she is absolutely amazing with the kids. I look forward to this school year.

My grandchildren have attended this school since 1st grade and they are doing wonderfully well in their academics. The teachers and staff are very dedicated and seem to enjoy what they are doing. My grandchildren love going to school and that makes me very happy. Both of them have been on the a honor roll through all of their grades so far.
This school is a safe school. I just wish they would take more field trips because I think the students the students get bored easily. So I think if they take three field trips per year they won't be bored that much. My student is in the third grade. She is in Mrs.Beatty's class.

the school lunch is the worst i've seen. they serve pizza or a version of pizza about 3 out 5 days and it usually comes out of a bag, as does most everything else served there. not much for nutrition at this school. i don't think anything is prepared in this kitchen aside from opening the baggie it was warmed up in. no wonder why kids are so over weight these days! the rest of the school i love, my kids have great teachers

I really like Cox Elementary and the efforts of most of the teachers. I am concerned at times that they do not challenge the children enough. It is not enough to me that they can score well on tests. How about thinking 'outside of the box?' The computer lab is somewhat outdated and its use seems to focus on the older children more. Computers are an integral part in our current and future lives. The hard work of the staff and teachers is not overlooked however. In fact, it is very much appreciated. Also, important to mention, that I feel my child is safe there.

My youngest son is a current student at David M. Cox elementary school. He is entering 5th grade and has attended David M. Cox for the past 3 years. My oldest daughter, who is a University graduate and now professionally employed, also attended David M. Cox elementary school. I am very pleased with the quality of education my children have received. I have always found the teachers & administration to be concerned and attentive to the children's and parent's needs. My son's IOWA test scores have been outstanding! The involvement of parents in my son's class has always been high. The administration hosts parent breakfasts where parents can share their opinions and suggestions. The school offers a gifted and talented education program (GATE) as well as music, art, humanities and computer science for the children. Extra activities are not well funding in the Clark County School district but Henderson Parks and Rec has outstanding opportunities!

Cox is a wonderful school but there isn't a lot of parent involvement.

My son has been at Cox since 2nd grade and my daughter since kindergarten. My children like Humanities because they can create skits. My son has improved in writing with the help of teachers and Humanities class. My son enjoys participating in P.E. programs at lunch recess (basketball and kick ball). The kindergarten and first grade teacher make a great team by sharing ideas and focusing on the children having positive first experiences. The teachers welcome you in the room. The office staff are friendly and eager to help you. There is parent involvement. I wish that the teacher, parents, and students do more for Multicultural Week. Safety and reading are high priority at Cox.

It is a great school, with lots of dedicated teachers. For some reason, the quality of education was going down a little in the past few years. The good news is that the school now have a new principal, and she is focused on education, that is a good sign for the school. I see David M. Cox is on an up trend now. John Wang
