Well this review is for Doral Academy preschool, Saddle campus. The teachers are wonderful, caring and very communicative with parents. Also I'm really hoping that Doral Academy starts giving doral prek students priority/ transfer into kindergarten at Doral. The prek program follows the same Arts integrated way of learning as Doral Academy. And it would be wonderful to see the preschoolers to continue on enhancing the Arts integrated foundation that they learnt at prek further at Doral Academy. Instead of having to go to different schools for elementary education, Doral Academy should rethink their decision of not transferring the Doral Academy preschoolers. The kids and parents love this school. Only good things would come out of this positive change. Give the Doral Academy preschoolers (parents) the option of transfer to Doral Academy. The Doral Academy is a wonderful preschool with a great elementary school.

When we began the hunt for a school for our child who was beginning kindergarten we researched schools across the valley. We visited campuses & interviewed multiple private schools. We also attended open houses held at a number of charter schools. Among the half dozen schools that we considered "on the list" Doral Academy really stood out! When we attended the open house the staff were engaged and parents and students displayed great pride in their school. We submitted our application to Doral's lottery and crossed our fingers! When we received our acceptance email from Doral's lottery we danced a jig, literally. In the coming weeks before school started the anxiety grew, we wondered if this was the best school for our child? School started and an amazing thing happened, the doubt disappeared as we watched our child fall deeply in love with learning. I am grateful that my child is not only being taught to read far above the grade level, art, drama, music, but also lessons of respect are also administered daily. We are so grateful for our school and that we get to be Dragons!

Our family was very excited to get into Doral Academy Upper School, we had high expectations coming from a 5 star CCSD school. We are extremly proud to be apart of the Doral family!!! The school it's Administrators, Faculty and staff are very informed, they truly want the best for each child. I love the way they intergrate Art into every subject. They are truly creating critcal thinking scholars! Keep up the great job!

Doral Academy, being a Arts integrated program is a perfect fit for our children. We count our blessings everyday that our children attend Doral Saddle. The Administration and all the staff since 2013 has made our family fell welcomed and appreciated everyday. As of all charter schools they are " Choice Schools" in which its nice to not have to be zoned to go to them. So that being said we CHOOSE to attend this wonderful school. If we weren't happy I would look else where so I could open a seat up for other families that would appreciate this amazing opportunity to have the best education while having a blast learning. Keep up the AWESOME job Doral!!!!

My kids are on their second year at Doral Academy. We attended the Saddle Campus last year and the Cactus campus this year. The staff and admin at both schools is amazing! The staff at these schools truly love what they do and they love the students. We are so blessed to be a part of Doral Academy of Nevada!

I am a 2nd year parent at Doral Saddle. And we couldn't be happier. The school is getting better and better. My children love all the specials, the movement in all the classrooms and the enrichment program. The teachers really try to think out of the box and go above and beyond for the students . I love that you can volunteer anytime and be a part of the school. The principal .. Man is she incredible . She really does care about each student. She is in every lunch , outside at duty , and can always been seen on the field instead of behind a desk. We truly won the lottery with this charter school!

It saddens me that people/parents don't appreciate the AMAZING school that Doral Academy truly is. The principle Mrs. Phillips and Assistant principle Mrs. Tomasetti care so deeply about the students and their success. They are always walking around campus, interacting with students and teachers, smiling and willing to meet and address any concerns that arise. This is our second year at Doral and now both of my children are attending Doral Saddle Campus. My oldest went from fighting every morning to go to school, to wanting to attend and be in school. He went from being an average student in the district to earning straight A's for the last two years. The interaction and the challenging work he receives from his teachers is far more then he ever received from the district. Doral Academy may not be the right CHOICE for every family or student, but for my children I feel blessed that they have the opportunity to be part of SUCH a GREAT SCHOOL, with amazing administrators, teachers, and staff! Thank you.

Punch me! This school is like a dream!! Kind, considerate, caring, dedicated, creative, friendly teachers, staff and administration. Open door policy unlike anything I have ever seen before, I volunteer a number of times each week and will always see handfuls of parents helping in the classrooms, office and teacher prep areas. It is important to remember that this is the first year for this school and already HUGE accomplishments have been achieved. I am excited to see what the future of Doral Cactus looks like.

We were at saddle campus last year and loved everything about the school the pricipal is an amazing woman my daughter was in half day kinder and the test scores were out the roof. We decided to go to cactus campus this year simply because we live so close. I am very happy with the decision my first grader and my kinder absolutely love school they come home excited to tell me about their day the teachers and the aid are all wonderful and welcoming. My favorite part of cactus campus is mrs marshal she is an absolutely amazing and inspiring woman. The exact role model I want not only for my children. But all children. The posititive inside the school is such a breath of fresh air. I love both the campuses and I can't understand any of the negative post I have read.

As the school year begins to wind down I wanted to share how impressed I am with this school. I have had the opportunity to be involved in education both as a teacher and as a parent for many years. Doral Academy is one of the very best schools I have had the privilege of being associated with. The teachers and administrators are compassionate and highly skilled.

I have been following this school since it opened a couple years ago and my daughter has been on the wait list until this year when she finally got in! There is a lottery to get a spot and thousands enter for just a few spots. IT IS AMAZING!!! To think that this school, is FREE!!! I could not be more impressed, integration that includes Suzuki violin, NV ballet theater, visits to student performances at The Smith Center. 5 star all the way!!!

Unless you want to be belittled by the principal I would not recommend this school. Everything is a joke to her and nothing is important until push comes to shove and it might affect the school funding. Horrible school, staff is even worse. They are RUDE and unless you bow down to them or you know them personally you will get nothing from them. The staff does not believe in "confidentiality" and I have personally overheard staff members talk bad about other parents. The Schools only concern is funding, they will try and push your child through the system just to make there quota for testing. Doral Saddle does not follow specific guidelines for schools and I would NOT recommend this school to my worst enemy.

Doral Academy Cactus Campus is AMAZING! We love it here. I am sorry the previous negative posts don't feel the same. One thing parents need to know is that this is not an "ART" school, but an art integrated school. Arts integration is instruction that integrates content and skills from the arts dance, music, theater, and the visual arts with other core subjects. Arts integration occurs when there is a seamless blending of the content and skills of an art form with those of a co-curricular subject. My children LOVE this way of learning. The staff, front office, teachers and especially the principal and assistant principal are wonderful, always very helpful. My kids love being at school and are sad when I take them out early or they have to miss a day. So very grateful to be apart of the Doral Family!

Doral Cactus Academy Arts Integration program is a joke. It is very far from Doral Academy, Florida from where they modeled their schools in Las Vegas. School is more preoccupied in fundraisings rather than reinforcing and focusing on their students education. Not all the teachers have their Bachelor s Degree. If you want your children to engage more in arts, parents needs to pay extra for activities considering school gets funded by tax payer s dollars aside from fundraising and contribution from private sector. No proven track of annual student test scores. Parents, if you want your child s abilities to be recognize, you need to be close to the staff and teachers. Front desk staff, administrative and some teachers walk around like you owe them something. In fairness, there are also wonderful teachers. If your child is underachiever, you will definitely appreciate this school in comparison to other public schools in Las Vegas. I wish there s more strong focus in education than endless fundraising activities. . It s a tight group of parents/staff and you can only break in by becoming like them, snooty and snobby.

FIVE of my children attend Doral Academy Cactus Campus and we absolutely love it there! The arts integration program, the staff, the extra curricular activities and above all the education my children are receiving at this school is amazing! I feel so blessed to have my children attend Doral Academy!

I do agree with the previous posts. I have to add, it seems that all the good people are left in Saddle Campus and Cactus absorb the "good ol' boy system." They are so much nicer with the people they already knew and rude to some new families entering Doral. Nice staff from Saddle influenced us to enroll our kids in Doral. However, you will never find the same treatment in Cactus; they have these snobby attitudes and feeling important. Saddle staffs were so kind to answers all the questions we have prior to entering the Cactus campus. We were excited at first, but now we feel like we made a mistake enrolling our kids to Doral Cactus. As for the education, while Doral have music and arts, most of the extra-curricular enhancement program for kids are expensive. It seems like Doral became a profit driven school. And the uniform, as long as the kids are wearing the Doral colors; it will pass the proper code for standard uniform attire. Doral have forgotten that cleanliness and proper shoes/socks that goes with uniform is also important. I see some kids wearing sandals showing their toes, and no one from staff and teachers says anything about it.

This our family's second year at Doral-- Saddle. We came from a private school and were nervous about public school in Nevada. Both my children (Pre-k and 2nd) made a great transition. They like going to school now and finding learning to be fun rather than a chore. By bringing arts into the classroom, I believe the children are more engaged with the material and actually pay more attention to the lessons. As a result, the learning is greater and more fun--who can argue with that? The people at the school are also a delight. We have had wonderful teachers who worked to support the students at their individual learning level and do not teach a one size fits all program. The other families attending the school are friendly and excited about being at Doral. The staff and administration welcome feedback and work to improve hiccups when they occur. If you want a high stress academic situation where students are instructed with old-fashioned drill and kill math, memorization and pedantic teaching, this is not the school for you. If you want to foster life-long learning in an enriching child friendly atmosphere of exploration and growth-- get on the waiting list!

I am a kindergarten teacher at Doral Academy. I read the review and want to reassure the public that all of our teachers have Bachelors degrees and went to college specifically to major in education. We are a state sponsored school that requires all of our teachers to have a state license. I teach kindergarten at Doral Academy and have a Bachelor's Degree with a minor in early childhood plus a kindergarten endorsement. I also have a Masters Degree in Arts Integration and have 32 extra credits in Curriculum and Technology. I was in the Clark County School District for 18 years. I chose to move to Doral Academy because I wanted to work for Mrs. Phillips again. I am also a proud parent of a second grader at Doral Academy and could not have chosen a better school for my child.

We love Doral!!! This is our second year at Doral and couldn't be happier. My son has excelled in his education along with being introduced to things above and beyond the normal classroom- like drama and violin. The staff and the Principal, Mrs. Phillips, make the difference. They are dedicated to the students and work hard to make it a fun, learning environment. We couldn't be happier- and so glad we have chosen Doral.

I have been extremely impressed by the administration at Doral Academy. They are actively involved in everything that goes on at the school. They are outside at drop off and dismissal, present at all events, and approachable and caring. All three of my children who attend Doral Academy are happy to go to school.

The school is amazing but the staff/volunteers are horrible. The principle is a doll, very sweet, but a few of the other staff are just ridiculous. I might not enter my children into this school next year and I am seriously debating weather I should withdraw him now and switch him schools. I do not even want to volunteer and be next to these violent staff. I can't imagine how they speak to the children.

This is the second year my children are attending Doral. I can't express how amazing the faculty and staff are at the school. I feel like we won the lottery. They are not under the stress they were in public school. They are actually exceeding here. I love that they have Theatre, Violin, Dance, Spanish and Media in Elementary school. They actually love going to school everyday.

The parents and students are good as you can get, but the administration is absolutely horrible. Everything is rushed with all notice coming at the very last minute. School picture packets sent out two days before pictures so you have little to no opportunity to get your children cleaned up for pictures. Any fees for projects are always dumped on you at the last minute. My children knew they had band all summer and I kept asking about instruments, but was only told there was a lab fee for the class. Today, the first day, received a notice that I needed to either buy or rent instruments by this Friday. Also the school seems to be more about being nice than actual learning. Missing assignments are just not taken serious and it's all about testing so they don't lose funding. I was very excited about the charter school system and just can't wait to get them out of this school. I really wish i would have chosen Coral over Doral. My oldest son had never missed turning in an assignment ever until this school and it is just no big deal to these teachers. That is until they start to cram for the standardized tests which their funding is based upon. This principal is horrible.

We love Doral Academy. My son went to another Charter school in town for 3 years and it was such a stressful environment . Doral is such a breath of fresh air. I see my son making so many positive strides forward not only academically but socially. We look forward to moving to the Cactus campus in the fall. We will miss Ms. Phillips but Ms. Marshall is awesome so I know my son is in great hands.

Our son attended a highly ranked public school for K-2 before we learned about Doral and enrolled him there. While we thought he was getting a good education at his prior school, it is NOTHING compared to Doral! This school just has such a loving, accepting atmosphere that encourages creativity. The specials include all the arts that have been removed from most public school, and more. The model of having PreK-middle school in one building is another thing we love. The middle school kids interact with the younger children, and the vibe feels more accepting and kind than the public middle schools I've seen. Everyone from the involved and caring principals to the highly qualified and loving teachers are sincerely dedicated to the children's success, both academically and socially. I cried when my son got into Doral, and am thankful every day that he is attending this wonderful school!

We have three children at Doral Academy. Pre-K, 3rd, 4th. The arts integration learning environment keeps every child so dedicated to their learning. Spanish, dance, theatre, art, media productions, violin, music, basketball, the list of activities they offer there students is unbelievable. The staff is top notch. Blessed to be at Doral.

Love Doral Academy! My son is a 6th grader and he is so happy at Doral. It is a new charter school with such a positive atmosphere! All the teachers are excellent, and the school has such a positive vibe. My son attended another charter school the past 4 years, and the climate there was so much different and getting worse. So glad to be at Doral now!
