I am currently attending Lied Middle School Now and let me tell you it is the worst school ever. The teaches are rude and dnt teach us to the standards we need to be taught. Im only in the 7th grade and already im doing 7 page papers. The vice principal does more than our real principal does. He game to all of our away games and she only game came to one of our home game. The teachers are always yelling in someones face. I had a recent incident with a teacher and the stuff took up for the teacher they did not ounce try and here my story. Our school serves us uncooked food and says they cant do anything about it. The only good thing I can say about good about the school is that they have an amazing music program. And the best music teachers ever.
this school needs to get there act together i am tired of not being able to learn anything so when ic ome home from school and my mom says what did you learn today i have to say nothing casue teachers wont talk if people are talking and just let uis talk the whole period. this is the worst school by far i have ever been to.and i just got suspended for having one tardy all year and about 50 other people. also a new kid that just got here acouple days ago got suspended for two days and only had his first tardy. THIS SCHOOL OUGHT TO BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES.
Student learning is a two way street, parents also need to be involved in thier childs learning. Lied does have an exceptional music department, my oldest is now at LVA and her sister plays at Lied. When she has a problem with a class, she stays after school and her teachers work with her. My hat's off to the staff of Lied MS, you are doing a wonderful job!
this school is the worst school i have ever sent my child to.my son attened roy martin middle school in the ghetto and learned more than my daughter has in the 2 years she has been up there.the admin or office staff is unhelpful and when you go in there r call nobody knows nothing you have to speak to 30 people just to get your parent link password.
I went to Lied for three years and let me be the first to tell you that this school was TERRIBLE. The teachers could care less if you're failing or not and the administration in general are ignorant, lazy, and unfair. Most of the staff their act like they're afraid of some of the students and are too scared to stand up to them. I don't know about you, but how does that qualify as being a "Lieder". The only thing I'll give them is their music program-- it's extraordinary. Other then that, this school pretty much fails at everything else. I was so glad to graduate from here. Parents, if you love your child DO NOT send your kids here.
I went to lied for three years. I won't say it was the best school I've ever been to, but i have gained many friends and life skills from lied. To be honest there were kids doing drugs and other bad things there, but I was never exactly aware of it until I left Lied. It is a good school, though. The teacher's do care about their students and the administrators as well. Sure I've had teachers that I didn't like, but they weren't horrible. Almost all of the teachers there are good.
It makes me VERY sad to read about so many unhappy parents of Lied students! I have had four children go through Lied and know many friends and family members who go to other schools in the district. Lied is absolutely superior! The teachers have high expectations of their students and that should be expected of middle school students. Every teacher is different, but for the most part, I have been 90% satisfied with the staff at Lied. As far as the administration (Principal, AP's, Deans) they are on the ball! Yes, they have strict rules, but it's important for kids to know they can't get away with the small things which in turn prevents larger incidents from happening. The counselors there are superb! My child will be in 7th grade next year and their counselor is super! Sad to see some unhappy! I'm NOT! :)
I love Lied! The principal, AP's, Deans are all on top of things. I see them out in the mornings and after school patrolling the neighborhood making sure our kids are safe! My third and last child is now at Lied as will be a 7th grader this year. Teachers have been above average and the counselor was awesome! So kind, caring, sweet and there for the kids! Looking forward to 2 more years! Lied is NOT like other schools in the valley! Lied is far better!
So far I have 2 kids that have been to Lied. The school has a successful music department, with both orchestra and band earning superior ratings almost every year. There are many varieties of clubs and activities held after school. School safety is a bit so and so because you only see school police every now and then. Parents aren't allowed in the parking lot for safety reasons because of buses loading/unloading students . Test grades are improving step by step, but definitely not decreasing. Parent involvement is what I say average from parent meetings held at least every quarter and along with Intouch to check your child's grades (contact your student's counselor for password). Even though there are some teachers that are ridiculously strict, that doesn't mean you don't learn a single thing. Your child will be able to get through the school year depending on your child's behavior.
My son goes to Lied and he and I both hate it! I have had nothing but problems with him and the school since he started attending there. If I had a choice, it would be any school but Lied! Don't send your children there if you can help it! The P, VP & Deans are rude and ignorant. I am never notified of anything as far as grades or incidents. Parents aren't even allowed in the parking lot to pick up or drop off students!
