I start at this school as a 6th grader tomorrow , the 27th of August . I think that what I have seen so far is just amazing ! All the people who say the dean Mr.Lediard , just haven't been compatible with him . He is a very compatible and caring dean . I myself have never seen a teacher/dean work so hard for his students . The principal Mrs.Smothers is a very nice principal who I hope to see every day . Thank you for reading <3 Don't forget that Lawrence Junior High School is a four out of five star school and I highly recommend it to all students !
The problem with this school is there DEAN. He is very unprofessional & extremely rude. I was there to pick up my son & the dean went to my sons class & escorted him to the bus, knowing I was there to pick him up. I hope he gets fired.

Lawrence is one of the worst schools ive ever went too . Teachers RARELY pay any attention to their students . Their is CONSTANT fights , monthly almost . There is TONS of bullies here . & alot of people get made fun of. i would N O T recomend this school to ANYONE .
Great school, indeed! Math department excels, especially from 6th to 8th grade! The need to reward all teachers more, and especially math teachers who are so much in demand that many opt out to go into industry where they make more money. Who do we think is going to provide the students who can go on to study math in high school and college and eventually work in all types of important organizations throughout the United States. Let's stop depending on other countries to provide our technical work force or take away our good jobs. Support math education in deed, not just in voice.
I am right now in the 7th grade. this school will help you learn and be a good student. there are no bullies in this school. the teachers are really nice, the students are getting better grades and kids are getting better influence ,but one thing that i found sad is that Mrs. Donnaly left the school, she understood what the students wanted and how to help them . she was the best counselor. she got transfered to fertita because they were having troubles. i am in band class and it is my favorite class ( besides P.E) and i always look forward to it everyday. i hope the school will stay the same when my little brother comes to this school. this school is also the most high-tech school. my friend goes to guine and i told him about all the new equipment about the school iPod touches and the new computers ( i heard there is a total of 200 computers in the whole school ) and the laptops ( about 100 of them) . I think in my own opinion that this school is really good and i highly recommended this to and student willing to learn, have fun and cooperate with other students.
This school year I will be a 7th grader at Lawrence Junior High School and I must say that I love this school!!! Although some of the teachers might be strict, they are only strict to help us learn more and to teach us how to be mature adults... my parents are really happy with me because some of the teachers are really nice and I get A B honor roll!! Nevertheless I absolutely love this school and I hope you do also!!!
My daughter just started LJHS this year. I am very pleased with the school, although they could be a little bit laxed on the tank top dress code, i mean.. it is freaking hot in the summer. Otherwise, my daughter is a straight A student and honor roll student. The teachers are nice and the office staff is nice. There needs to be a bit more after school structure (i.e, kids riding their bikes in the middle of the street and then yelling profanities at you), but other than that, Its a very good school.

I am a seventh grader at Lawrence, and I'm very surprised at what some people have written. Being an actual student, I can say that all of my teachers that I've had so far are excellent, and care very much about the education of students. The school rules are inforced very well. I never see anyone chewing gum, fighting, or up to any nonsense at Lawrence; the staff will not tolerate it. I honestly haven't heard of a fight happening at this school in my two middle school years, which oughta make parents happy. Oh yeah, and there's tons of things to do after school. There's 6 sports. Also, I can name atleast 20 clubs off the top of my head, but obviously that would be too big of a list to post. Overall, I love this school, and I think people should give it more credit.

I diagree with you.Lawrence is not a 'terrible' school. My son transferred to Lawrence from Guinn (we live by Lawrence.) While it was a rough crowd the school was great! He was A Honor roll all year. So, I can compare Lawrence..... I think as a parent you are responsible to be 'partners with the teacher(s)' when it comes to your child's education! I keep close tabs on his homework & his grades (check 'In Touch' online system weekly.) If I have questions about anything (even the simplest one..like what the homework is about) I write his teacher & give them my number to call me. They do! My 8th gr. son is on the National Honor Society, Lawrence Bowling League, & a Student Aide. The Principal is wonderful!Lawrence has a red carpet on the 1st day of school for students?! Literally! For kids to succeed & learn, parents need to step up!

I am a former student of Lawrence, and I can tell you the school has changed a bit since I first came there. Although the staff says they strictly enforce many rules (such as the one way hallway and backpack policy), I was surprised that at the end of my last year there that they begun to become a little sloppy and let a few of backpacks in classrooms (then again no one's perfect), but aside from that, the staff was friendly, despite being strict, and the principal was very kind too, always supportive of our sport teams and our great music department. The counselors are all nice and they can help you if their not busy. Other than that, Lawrence seems like a great school, but be careful of those bad kids with failing grades.
