Haha, don't listen to the other students who seem to be complaining about the school's system, expecting that the staff and administration should apparently know every single thing about what to do. Faiss Middle School is a great school. I am a student myself as of now, and I am having a great experience. The teachers are nice, friendly, and helpful if you don't get on their nerves, and the staff/administration aren't that bad. We have a decent band/orchestra/choir program, along with several clubs and other programs such as NJHS, etc. The food is great. They serve pizzas, burgers, ice cream, powerade, etc. Violence is a very rare thing in campus. There's only been one or two physical fights that I've seen/heard of this entire year. In my opinion, the school is great. If you're a student that's going to complain about kids being "racist," "rude," or "they cuss a lot." Well, there's not much I can say but tell you to learn to get over it and report it to a teacher/administrator if you actually deem it to be offensive.

I believe that Faiss has definitely benefitted my child. He has maintained a 3.0 GPA and has met many new friends in the current semester. From what he has told me, the staff is quite friendly and the halls have been clear of bullies. When I came to the Open House in the beginning of the year, I was impressed with the curriculum and standards.

I am VERY impressed with the leadership at Faiss MS. Next year my youngest will attend Faiss MS and have the opportunity to attend a school that has dedicated and driven teachers led by an administration that holds the teachers and students accountable for their success. They have well structured guidelines and stick to them for all. No nonsense is well appreciated. I know my child is learning in a safe environment. Excellent school.

I transferred here from Del Webb middle school and u have to say, the students here are rasist, rude, and cuss a whole lot! On my second week here, I was talking to my friend then a girl (that I don't know) starts to to poke me in the face, I tell her to stop then she did... For about 2 minutes, then she comes up to me and SLAPS ME!! I was at P.E and the coach didn't even do anything! The food is also horrible and expensive. The teachers are so rude and yell at a student every 5 mins. Then they get off subject and start talking about their personal life. I'm in accelerated classes and there not even difficult! The principles and dean are so rude! There's this one dean who thinks she owns the school and is the one who is mostly rude. The red head cheer couch is so mean and rude to anyone who isn't on the cheer team. Most of the cheer leaders are bossy and rude. There is bulling, inappropriate students, rude and mean administrators, teachers etc. and most of the student are jerks, not only to the faculty, administrators, teachers, but the students and the private property too.

The school is a joke. While I attended Faiss MS, it was not bad, just more strict than I would've had it, but now my brother attends it and it is INSANE. He was falsely accused of swearing (which it was probably another student around him) and RPC'd but when he reported another student and all that student received was a verbal warning. Until that point, he had no record of misbehaving and when he tried to explain, the dean refused to listen. Many people blame these things on the principal's religion, but I am also a Mormon and I do not think this is why; we are not like this. Similar situations have happened with several of my friends who have and are currently attending Faiss, both Mormon and Non-Mormon. One such incident was that a dean yelled at a student for dropping a grain of rice and leaving it behind on the floor. One grain. All in all, it is just sad how a school so great when it opened could end up the way it is now.

The administrators, teachers, and staff members at Faiss create a safe environment for students. Although there have been many changes, the school is focused on education and on doing what is best for children. I am happy to have my child attend Faiss Middle School. I know they are receiving a great education. The teachers have always been caring and easy to communicate with.

My school is Wilbur and Theresa Faiss Middle School. I believe that Faiss is an amazing middle school. Staff members are always observing the students and ensuring their safety, no matter what the circumstances are. No matter what corner you turn in the school, there will always be an adult keeping an eye out for them, whether they are teachers or any staff by that manner. If there are ever any students breaking a school regulation or doing something inappropriate, it doesn't last past 2 minutes because teachers are always there to stop them at the drop of the hat. Faiss is also very full of opportunities for the students to prove themselves and who they actually are. Faiss will always be close to my heart because of its supplements towards the students.

Okay this 2013-2014 year is my last year here at faiss. Going into 6th grade, i was very pleased. We had a different dean/principal/vice principal. They werent as strict as the ones this year. In 7th grade, everything changed with the new admins. I can say most 8th graders that have been here all 3 years hate faiss. Some teachers care, but others could care less if you fail. Lunch is expensive and unhealthy. PLUS THE SCHOOL WASTES MONEY ON USELESS THINGS LIVE 5 TV'S IN THE CAFETERIA. REALLY? Also, a teacher said they are limited on paper because faiss cant afford it. That's pretty sad in my opinion. They do buy papa johns pizza but i think it tastes NOTHING like it. I do wish i went to a better school so I would have a better chance to get into a CTA High School. There is lots of bullying. Theres nothing they do. But the school is an okay school i suppose.

Faiss Middle School provides plenty of opportunities for students to get involved with the school's activities and events, such as Student Council and National Junior Honor Society. Along with the good learning environment, with little to no bullying and constant monitoring by the administrative staff, the teachers are also well experienced and provide challenging activities and give equal attention to all students. The Fine Arts Department is also a good way to explore other non-academic activities. The Awards Night of last year was solid proof of the teachers' job well done, with a surplus of A+ students, although a formal graduation might have been nice. Lunch needs some improvement, but overall, Faiss is an amazing school.

One more thing about the school work is that they don't give enough time to do projects. They rush you and if you dont finish it decreases your grade. The gym teachers are horrible at teaching CPR. It seems like its impossible to get an A. We either got a B, C, D or failed. After getting new principles and deans, apparently we aren't able to use phones or electronics at lunch during our little free time or in the quad. The only way to have a tasty and full lunch is the snack line which provides stuff like chips, spicy chicken sandwiches, powerade, chocolate chip cookies & much more but you'll have to bring about $20 every week which I find of a rip off cause the drinks and food prices are too expensive for the poor quality. That's some more details that wasn't able to fit with the other review.

I though my first year as a 6th grader going to Faiss was going to be the best. The complete opposite than what I expected. I had all accelerated classes and it didn't seem as challenging or as fast. The teachers didn't really explain the subject or lesson. For example, the first semester of exams was a disaster for English! Everyone was complaining that they got a C or a D. It wasn't our fault. The teachers are too fast or too slow and spacey when teaching or often change the subject and start talking about their life. The principle isn't socially active at all. He doesn't interact with students. The dean acts like she owns the school and has a bit of an attitude. The assistant principle is pretty cool. They're also way too strict on dress code. The lunch is totally disgusting! We were also lied to when picking our elective. I got choir and its best & easiest when it comes to grading. The students there can be snobby, racist, or kept to themselves-same with teachers. Worst quality from a school I experienced. I'm glad I'm moving and not resuming for the rest of 7 & 8th grade. After reading this I hop you don't send your kid here. I wouldn't want them to have this feeling.

This is my last year at Faiss and I am glad. We got a new principle, a new assistant principle, and two new deans. They are all awful. I have to say that we had one dean who really was fair and cared. She went by the rules but she cared about us. Then one day, she is gone. The other dean is mean, really rude, and does not care. She acts like she is the principle or something. I wish she had left and Miss L had stayed. The assistant principle is cool but really he doesnot say much.

I honestely really enjoyed my first and second years at this school, currently I am attending my 3rd and finale year at this school and I am very disappointed. We got a new principal, vice principal, and dean. The principal isn't very fond of the student council, NJHS, and could care less about the actually student's opinion. Our second dean acts very high then her actually position. She forces many students and me to eat our food after waiting in a 10 minute lunch line in 2 minutes. I didn't even finish eating when I was forced to go outside with more than 15 minutes left in the lunch period. What a waste of 2 dollars and 25 cents. You might want your child to go to this school for its academics, but be aware that your student will get shuned and blamed for this they didn't even do.

Had two students there last year 2011/2012 in 7 and 8th grade. The teachers, dean and principal are doing a fantastic job. Great student councel and after school programs. Choir and drama team one of the best in Las Vegas. I have not experienced any of the problems mentioned in other reviews.

I am new this year to Faiss. I have noticed a large amount of bullying that has not been resolved and is continuing to happen. I ask the people being bullied if they had told staff and, they told me they had not yet done anything about it yet. On the other hand, the classes at this school are better academically compared to my old school. Overall, so far, this school is okay."

Sometimes I wonder if the people who give bad reports here are speaking from their child's point of view who probably has a bad day every day, or they're just trying to get parents to send their children to their school that is actually exactly like how they describe Faiss here. I am a student who enjoys every single day with my friends and people I don't know and probably will never meet. The teachers are kind, the students have their own opinions and ways of life, and the staff will try and help you with your problems whether you are being bullied or your locker decided it will stop opening. The fights here? Dance fights. They compete to see whose better than who. As another reviewer said, there would be a small fight every n amount of months. The dean and some teachers aren't mean, they try and teach disipline, whats right and whats wrong. Now stop telling stories about what you think the school is like after concluding that this school is bad, sit in the corner, and think about what you've done.

looking at some of the reviews here, i wonder if we are talking about the same school. I had the privilege of attending this school for three years. There are fights but i have seen that drastically decrease the last 3 years so that when i was in ^th, a fight would be once a month, 7th-every 3 months. When I was in *th grade i did not see a fight. They have an amazing staff who care about the students and are always working to find out what students think that might make the school a better environment. The students work directly with the principal also. Bullying is never tolerated and if anyone sees bullying they can anonymously report it on the school website. The councilors also listen to the student not as a superior, but as an equal who seeks the best for them. They are filled with amazing teachers, who all encouraged me to reach a higher education, and i did, with their help, and even when i am in high school they helped me. There are many opportunities here, but you have to strive for them. they are not just given. If you are intelligent enough, when you are in seventh grade you can be taking a high school honors algebra class. I do not know many schools that do that. thanks

A very strangely ran school. Not very parent friendly, they would prefer no parent involvement except for their wallets. Very hard to speak with the principal, you have to go threw the counselors assistant, then the counselor then the deans assistant then the dean and maybe get as far as the vice principals assistant/ secretary. WOW where does the school need cut backs. I think we need an assistant for all the assistants in replace of two teachers THAT TEACH OUR CHILDREN. HMMMM The school is ran by a bunch of teachers that feel very superior, their word is higher than the principals (they chose the principal and other teachers at the school, NOT THE DISTRICT OR THE PRINCIPAL PRIOR TOO.) A lot of parents that have had their children enrolled and have the time to teach at home have withdrawn their children to teach them or have requested for a zoning variance. Student bullying IS TOLERATED as well as fights and discrimination. It needs a major house cleaning and re-structering of guidelines. Students that leave here learn nothing but drama and attitude not an education...

I have never attended a worse school in my life. The teachers literally have no idea of what they're talking about. There's an excess of violence almost every day. The kids are racist, and if you don't conform to their expectations, you will get beaten up. I wonder how 95% of these people can even BREATHE on their own. PARENTS, DO YOUR CHILD A FAVOUR. Do NOT send them to this school no matter how 'nice' it may seem. There are 0 opportunities here. I developed anorexia and a bad habit of slashing my wrists, the counselours did literally zip about it, they laughed and told me life got better. Do NOT send your child here. EVER.
