My grandson learned more in two months than a whole school year at one of the 'newer' elementary schools. Staff is very caring!

My son has attended Mount Rose Elementary School since Kindergarten. The school has a positive culture. And the academic program is strong. He has never had a problem with falling behind and his test scores are well above the national average. Personally, I feel that the Principal is donig an outstanding job. She has implemented a strong reading program. This year the focus has been more on science and math. Mount Rose is an excellent school.

Took my son out of this school. Beautiful building, much to be desired inside. From the principle to the teachers. One final straw when a learning disability was possibly discovered in the end of one school year and the info was not passed on to the teacher the following year. Many negative experiences at this school unfortuntly.

My daughter transfered from a private school this year because they didn't have any programs for her special education needs. However, after an initial 3-month that where wonderful, she was moved to a new classroom because of the large class sized in 4th grade. I am not fond of the new teacher. Where as before I felt that my daughter was getting a well rounded education, I feel very differently now. The kids have to earn PE and she has a student teacher who teaches math and nothing else. I have also noticed that homework is 95% math. Although I feel math is an important subject, I feel that children should be given a well rounded and inclusive eduction. I don't feel that this is what is happening in my daughters class and the adminstration is hard to pin down when you would like to address problems.
