The last posting by a parent is totally wrong. The teachers do care about the students there. If more parents would teach their students manners at home and not expect the school to raise their child, then the teachers wouldn't have the problems they are having. Schools are for learning, not raising your child. That is your job, not the teachers. Maybe if the last posting parent was active in their child's education he/she wouldn't complain so much. Yes there are some unrulely students there, but I blame the parents, not the school.

This is an absolutely horrible school. Do not under any conditions put your children here unless you want them to become, disrespectful, and rude. For every one good child there are 10 absolutely horrible children that disrupt the class, and make it impossible for any real learning to occur. Unfortunately as this is a low income extremely small and isolated town there is no way to isolate the good kids from the bad kids. Also there is no consistency with discipline, so the kids don't care. Seriously, if you love your children, and hope they become well mannered polite adults stay far far far away from here.

This school has the worst office staff I have ever seen. I have had the pleasure of working with many different school office staff around the country and this one is by far the worst. The teachers are wonderful and I was very pleased with them as they were the ones working with my children daily. So many parents have brought concerns to the office and have been not only ignored but denied claims. There were fundraisers that were held every friday and the proceeds from those were to go to field trips for students and not one class k-8 took a field trip in the 12-13 school yr. Where does the money for these students go? If you are a parent checking on this school because you are moving to Tonopah for work, do yourself a favor and homeschool them!!! I have felt discrimination of my beliefs and personal rights as an american. I am just SO blessed to have a new work opportunity in another state. 2 weeks couldnt go by fast enough. As for what this school can do better to improve....... Make some major changes in leadership.

Tonopah elementary is a great school my son was having a hard time with some subjects. I sat down with a team of teachers and we all came up with a sulution that has so far worked out for him. When your child attends this school he or she is not a number your child is a member of teachers that love their jobs and take pride, making a difference in your children life.
