It's great school; great teachers, students working hard ; good facility ; clean and well organized.the environment of neighborhood is good too~
As a parent, I am pretty happy with Tenakill Middle School. However, I am not happy with their grading system. 30% of the kids usually get Straight A's. With that kidn of grades, kids don't feel the need to study. At Tenakill, straight A's usually mean you are an average or a bit above average student. I would prefer seeing C's and D's so that I could tell what areas my kids should work on much more. Vice Principal is probably the Best Person you can ever meet and have as your mentor.
I previously was a student at Tenakill Middle School myself. I can say that Tenakill has some good students and a good education system. My teachers were okay and i didnt like the kids at the school.
I can't say enough about the staff at tenakill school. The teachers are all exceptional, if you have an issue with your child academically they will address it and keep you abreast of their progress. You can email or request a conference at any time, they really are committed to educating the children.
Every single teacher in that school knows what their doing. We just moved to Closter and my daughter started attending it. Her grades have improved. At the back to school night all her teachers proved that they have obviously done their part in the community as well in the classroom. Everyone is serious, strict, yet loving and compassionate. This is an amazing school. The only problem I found was the discipline. If a child does something bad they get many chances. I think they should just give the kkid detention first time they do something bad. The principle is pretty old and his running skills are okay. You'll never get too much info out of him thats for sure. The vice is better, I believe. Takes charge, knows what to do. However the principle speeches are impecable, they hit you right in the heart. It's amazing.
One of the best middle schools in New Jersey.
