Excellent, caring teachers willing to go the extra mile to help your child succeed. Top students will find intense competition and a vast array of honors and AP courses. Special Ed students will find okay support, not great. Athletics are very good. Campus is absolutely safe; discipline is firmly enforced. Top students are accepted into elite colleges.

An excellent district. Great teachers. Very, very competitive atmosphere. Probably should place more graduates in the most elite colleges and universities. As challenging as a prep school without the payoff.

Northern Valley Regional High School at Demarest has a very strong music department. The school provides scholarships and summer programs to students who excel in their field, whether it be instrumental or vocal. Many of these students' parents are involved through fundraising and sometimes even fund activities themselves. We have many extracurricular activities, and if there isn't one that you want to join, it isn't too hard to create a new club as long as all the requirements are met. There is always at least one teacher supervising the club or activity.
