Good teachers, my daughter is in third grade now. She has been going there since kindergarden. We always got a good feedback from the teachers, whatever our concerns were we wrote a note to them and got quick responses. Only one thing they should have music instruments classes from third grade.

My son entered John Marshall September of 2009. He has some special learning needs and I feel as the Child Study Team and the related staff are receptive to his needs, for the most part. The only issue that I have with JMS is it's problem driven progress. The only children to receive progress reports are children who are in need of help. It should be called a lack of progress report, because if your child is functioning well their is no communication at all as to their performance. It's the same with the reprot cards. They only mark the areas that are in need of improvement, if they are performing satisfactorily then they do not mark the box at all. I must say that I expected more.

Poor in communication's with parents. Poor in professionalism in the administration Office. (aministrator's who answer the phones and greet the parents at the front desk)

My son worked very hard last year for Perfect Attendance . I ask principle why was it not acknowledge by the school, he stated 'because of the different religious holidays that do not appear on our calendar John Marshall School do not want to penalize, any particular nationality for taking off on their holiday, it s not a major concern when a child is out for a few days, it s expected their kids. I believe as a parent what gets acknowledge gets repeated. These are 3rd graders and coming to school everyday except when they re sick or family emergency etc should be what we re instilling in our children. When a principle is in support of taking off for holidays that do not appear on Edison calendar, we send the wrong message to our children.

My son was in kindergarden this past year and he will be in this school for the next 5 years and let me tell you if they started his eduction of this way, i have my work cut out for me. Took almost 6 months for me to get him extra help and when did ne get it, the last 2 weeks of school. I'm hoping 1st grade is better but after the year i just had with him i'm expecting the worst unfortunately.

I feel that every school should have an adequate art/music room. John Marshall does not provide this. The children stay in the classroom that they are in all day and a cart comes around to provide them with the art and music lessons. How can a child express themselves when they are in the same room all day long? The arts are a great way to vent out frustrations for these kids. And now it will only get worse once the new homes get built. Add some more kids to this already overcrowded school. Take away the gym/lunchroom let's just confine them to the classroom all day long. These kids deserve better than that.
