its horrible and the teachers have no patience at all.the school is run by a bunch of morons. and the alternative school where they should have even more patience, have none at all.the school is for children that have different problems some need smaller classes some need more PATIENCE and they dont have any of that. one teacher kicked a student, nice right.thats where we send our children and they get abused.or sent home for doing small things that can be fixed by the staff.instead they throw them to the side like garbage.i would not recommend this school system to anyone.so what we have alot of things for the kids to get into, like sports and clubs.its all for nothing if the staff is no good.the middle school and alternative school are the worse school we have here.seems like after k-5 it goes down hill. sad but very true!!!! for the teachers they get 0 for no patience and lack of control.principal leadership def. a 0. I DO MY JOB NOW THEY NEED TO DO THEIRS.THESE TEACHERS GET PAID BIG BUCKS FOR WHAT?? TO HAVE NO PATIENCE?NO CONTROL? SHAME ON LB SCHOOLS

I attended LB Junior High and Senior High Schools in the 1970's; my three children attended both schools, LB has the best curriculum, sports, students, teachers, staff in Monmouth County. We are the best. My son is a para-professional with the LB Board of Education, he's been at the JFS, Gregory, Lenna Conrow, LB Middle School, LB High School, Audrey Clark, and he loves it. The schools, the kids, his co-workers and the administration.

ok no school is perfect, and lbms proves that. However, that doesnt mean that us students dont get a good education. A lot of people involved with the school, including parents and students, say that the school is going on a downward spiral and always will be, and then they usually put in something about our bad test scores. But this is how I think of it: The students in our school that are motivated and want to get a good education usually do, and the students who dont care about getting a good education dont recieve the results that the motivated students get.

I am a student at Long Branch Middle School. I have gone to LBPS for a very long time now. I am in the honors programs and the sports programs and to be perfectly honest I do not find the school to be that great. Im mean dont get me wrong the school has its places it does very well in but its not enough. For example I have heard parents say that they send there children here because of the wrestling team who are division champions for the 5 year in a row. In my opinion I do not belive the great wrestling team is worth risking your childs education on. As many people have heard our test scores have been low for a long time now. Thats not the students fault its the staff's fault. A good teacher should intrige there students so they want to learn. Many-teachers-at-this-school-dont-care-enough-to-make-there-student-want-to-learn-they-are-just-waiting-for-there-next-paycheck. So-if-you-are-thinking-of-putting-your-child-in-LBMS-please-for-the-sake-of-your-child-recansider.

Teachers are very hands on, all of the staff is trying to make the bet student body possible. Not all students are willing to learn.

The LBMS has been identified by the State Department of Education as a school in crisis -- failing to make progress, etc. and liable to a state takeover if things continue their downward spiral. In response, the administration has gutted the extracurricular programs, the foreign language, programs, electives, and virtually everything else in a desparate attempt to increase test scores before the State steps in. For the sake of your children, examine the test scores, the NCLBA status, the (low) percentage of Highly Qualified Teachers, the remedial-level curriculum, etc. before allowing your children to attend this school.

Hello I am a 7th grader at LBMS, accelerated classes and this is the best school I have ever been to. I've been to private schools, etc, but by far this is the best. Yes we have some fights but thats only in the lower 'iq' or not as challenged classes. Otherwise our school is multicultural, with close to or over 1,000 students (lol i dont know). Almost everyone has friends here, no bullies, and the best teachers ever. My teachers are Mr.Hegerich, Ms.Hoyle, Ms.Wilson, Ms.Wuesthoff, Coach.Simon, and Ms.Stavola. They are all real great teachers and are all devoted to helping us if we need help. This is my favorite school. Also, all our schools are being rebuilt. The new LBMS opens in 2005-2006 (a $72million project). The highschool will have a state of the art football/rec field, and a swimming pool. This is my favorite school and I love it.

I am sorry to say that when I moved to Long Branch back in 1997 it was a huge mistake! As another parent said. The lower grade schools are just fine. The middle school, now thats a whole different ball game! My daughter went from an honor student to almost failing the 6th grade. Ex: 1st marking period a 97 in math 2nd a 70. And not one phone call ,one progress report, nothing sent home to even let me know there was a problem. Teachers & parents have to work together. Why is that not happening at LBMS? The kids have taken over this school 110%, with the fighting, foul mouths, dress codes not adhered to. Teachers are playing referee more than educating. Show up any day at the end of school and you will see for yourself! Or better yet check out the scores of these kids. We are way below state average in everything!

LBMS is quite frankly the worst school in this district. The elementary schools are fantastic and deserve an A+ (well except for Anastasia). However, once the children attend LBMS expect the worst. This school's leadership, principal, secretaries, and vice principals don't seem to support the family unit at all. To me they seem tired, unfriendly and there only for the paycheck. From experience, it's rough, loud, chaotic and very unsupportive. They don't work with you. In my honest opinion, a beautiful new school won't do much if the adminstration stays the same.

In my opinion: LBMS has some outstanding extracurricular programs -- particularly, Music and Performing Arts. However, the school and district suffer from poor leadership and remedial-level classes under the 'Abbott' program (being one of the worst school districts in the State). The rate of student suspensions is far higher than the State average. Parents should investigate the situation at LBMS thoroughly before enrolling their children.
