SO FAR SO GOOD, WAY BETTER THEN PARKER SCHOOL. TEACHERS ARE GOOD ,SCHOOL IS VERY CLEAN AND PLAYGROUND IS GREAT, THE AIDS ARE HELPFULL. IM HAPPY TWO WEEKS IN.
The principal doesn't like parents and discourages parental involvement. Her emphasis is on rigorous academics. The other two elementary schools provide opportunities for parents to be involved and volunteer, but not Hazelwood! The principal is threatened by parents. This year, parents are not even allowed to approach her, all questions must be emailed to the PTO and then they forward them to the principal and she answers the questions she wants to answer. It is a TERRIBLE beginning to education for any student! I have one child who is now in 5th grade and one in third. Mrs. Jankowicz is a wonderful teacher, as is Mrs. Melick. The rest of the teachers that my children had were focused only on the NJ PASS or NJASK and really couldn't be bothered with anything else.
I am pleased with my experience as a parent. The teachers are very knowledgeable, caring and know how to reach every child s potential for learning. This school district is a little hidden secret in Middlesex!!
