This school has good test scores and etc, but it has a serious problem. A new policy completely bars freshmen from taking Algebra II, and I fear that it will spread to the point that the school doesn't let anyone challenge themselves. People are spoiled and most people probably buy their grades. The people have massive egos. Many of the teachers are awful. The only thing the school cares about is their reputation. There should be much more AP classes...

Favoritism runs highly here. You need your teachers to write you recommendations to get into the AP classes, as well as an entrence exam. Despite that I was in ALL accelerated classes, and stellar at math, they would not move me up into AP Math because kids with private tutors performed better than me on the entrence exam. Livingston on the other hand doesn't have an entrence exam to get into the AP classes, so its more fair for people who work hard and consistently perform well- and there is less favoritism.

Great school system with an abundance of challenging course offerings. Faculty is very intelligent and accessible and overall student body is composed of motivated individuals. Extra-curricular offerings are also plentiful. I highly recommend this institution.

Excellent teachers and academic offerings, but your child has to be able to navigate some fierce cliques. Mean girls do run amok here. Some very spoiled and provincial-thinking teens.

This is likely the best school system in NJ. This should be a "benchmark" for other systems in the State. With two of my children in college now, and one on the way , I don't mind the high taxes I paid...It was worth it.

Because it has so much to offer for any student, not just the gifted. It's an outstanding high school. We have many Merit Scholars from our school each year!

Yes there are some smart kids but the kids are spoiled and overprivelaged and they think there great when there average. The teachers are ok some tend to let the kids do what they want but thats school. As for sports absolutly horrid.

Yes there maybe some short comings As a parent of 2 grad sons and a real estate broker living in Short Hills for over 35 years I have concluded....... The schools have made the town great. That's why people have been fighting to get in as long as I can remember.

AP classes at Millburn are very limited by the number of spaces available. The kids are tested to be allocated a place. Many more qualified kids than space in the AP class exist. Kids who are not favored have to study privately at great expense. Kids who move into the district after 6th grade are particularly disadvantaged by the school district's policy of honors class administration. Beware.

Millburn is continually rated the top high school in the State. It's important to note, though, that this excellence is found throughout the township's school system from elementary through to high school. Many here in the system believe that it offers an education on par with some of the quality private schools.
