I live in Montville for 7 years, one of my kids is graduating June 2011. This is a great school, with mostly great teachers, the math department teachers are not the best and tend to teach way beyond the student's level of High School but overall the education is top notch. There are many activities and clubs to join. The school has a great band! The curriculum has not suffered from the current budget issues.

As a now graduating student of MTHS, I'm proud to be one of their students. The sports and music is outstanding. You get the best one on on attention from teachers, they are so dedicated and willing to help you with your needs. All teachers are extremely knowledgeable in their subject. Montville will always ensure they will keep your children safe and well-educated.

My family has lived in Montville for 15 years. My oldest graduated recently. He went off to a great college and has done extremely well and he and all of his fellow graduates I have spoken to say they have done well because of the great education they received at Montville HS. We have 2 others in school here. We feel very lucky to live here. Top to bottom the schools have been great. The teachers are terrifically dedicated. The Admin is good and the BOE does what it can in these tough times to give the students the best curriculum possible. I'd rate it higher than 5 stars. School is safe. Quality bunch of kids. The comments below from that parent (2/25/07) is totally untrue. Any ethnicity can thrive here. And anyone is welcome. I seriously doubt that person lives here.

I am a proud parent of 2 students in MTHS. The teachers are an awe inspiring bunch that works hard and for the students in every way. The facilities are clean, safe, and modern enough. This year's graduating class was beyond exceptional. The AP results were incredible, and the top 20 got into great colleges, from Harvard, Princeton, Penn, Dartmouth, MIT, you name it!! Great system!!

Compared to other public schools that I've been to/heard about Montville is paradise. The arts programs are out of this world and fiercely supported with a top-ranked Field Corps and great Drama Club. The History Department is excellent, supported by the Guilder Lehrman History Program. As a student, I disagree that students are segregated based on Italian heritage- that is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard of, currently, no one cares if your Italian or not. Sure, there is cheating but there is cheating everywhere and Montville takes disciplinary actions against it. I have never been exposed to unbelievable amount of violence at school.

The teacher's are not helpful. The student's segregate each other based on whether or not they are of Italian heritage. The amount of cheating that occurs in this school is appalling. As someone who previously attended this school, I could not believe the amount of violence and disrespect shown between students and even faculty. Certainly no place for a child to have a proper education and be exposed to decent-quality people.

Montville Township High School is a top-notch facility. The teachers are great and the students love it here. Not every activity is available but the ones that exist are of high quality. Parents enjoy being involved.
