Our daughter graduated from Peck last week. She received an excellent education. The headmaster has transformed the school and the teachers are demanding but caring &supportive. We have seen it all and no school matches Peck's leadership or program.
Peck is an amazing school! Our daughter flourished after transferring from another school. She really learned how to write and developed good study habits. The work was a real step-up for her which meant she had to become more organized. While the homework seemd too much at times, her teachers and classmates were very helpful. We also like the emphasis on values and character. This was our first experience at Peck and can see the difference in our child.
We had two children graduate from Peck and could not be happier with the education they received. Both grew tremendously during their years at Peck and moved onto great high schools where they are near the top of their classes. The staff at Peck is very strong and the new headmaster has brought the school ahead. The work is not easy but our kids learned to write and speak well and are strong in math Everyone at the school has the kids' best interests at heart. It is well worth the tuition.
The writing and math programs in the upper school are not up to par. They seem ok, until your child heads to high school. In 8th grade the US History teacher actually taught the children that Abraham Lincoln was a founding father. The volume of homework is large, but not all of it productive. Sports is VERY important at the school - it is becoming known as little Delbarton. Our child survived the experience, but did not thrive.
We had a very bad experience with this school and it's leadership. The school leadership seems to pay attention only to big donors, not children's education. A lot of rote worksheets from the books you can buy on Amazon.com. A lot of teacher turnover again an indication of poor leadership. More emphasis on Athletics than on Academics. Crowded class rooms compared to other local day schools. Submitted by a Parent
This is a terrible, richie-rich school. Very clicky and self-absorbed. Math and science , language curriculums are a waste. Our children hated very moment of this place. I was stupid not to pull them out
As a parent there is nothing more rewarding than to find your child achieve his/her potential. I am proud to say Peck provides an enriching environment to the students where they can reach their goals and get ready to face the world with confidence. My 3rd grader comes home with a sense of accomplishment, roaring to do her homework and buzzing about her day at school. It's not only just the academics that The Peck School is well known for - it's about preparing a complete, well rounded individual. I have a 4 yr old and I can't wait to see him excel just like his sister at Peck.
I have two children in the The Peck School and I love the small family community that the school offers to the children and parents. The academic program is tops for K-8 students. I believe that my boys will be will prepared for high school anywhere when they leave the Peck School. The teachers that my kids have had over the years truly demonstrated a level of dedication to the student learning. I love the Peck experience for my children.
My daughter goes to this school. The teachers are unbelievably good. The program is very challenging and it is truly amazing how much the kids learn here. The only negative is their is too much homework. On average 2-3 hours every night at the fifth grade level. My daughter hates the homework load, but really loves the school. I love to see how far she has come since attending this school, just hate to see her getting stressed out about getting all the work completed.
I go this school and i love it1 The school is beatiful, we work as a family, and you feel welcome the first time you walk in. I am a new student in 7th grade and by the end of september i would goof around and open my self up to all my friends and teachers. They help you succeed and life. In public school i was never really into sports and as soon as i came to Peck and started sports i would look foward to it. I would be like ' it's almost time for sports! Yay!' And everyday when i came home i would be so happy and i would be smiling. I have never felt so great. From a student who goes to The Peck School i thank the staff, teachers, and friends who are helping me succeed in life. Thank You!
