I love this school. Teachers and the new Principal is wonderful. They really motivate students to learn and to explore. PTO host lots of programs for students and families. The Art teacher also brings out the creativity from the kids. The Librarian is very attentive and let the students know that "Reading is fun".
We parents being did schooling in out of United States, never knew how the education in America. In simple words, outstanding!!! the way they teach, do projects , STARS programs and involvement of arts, music, spanish and gym from kindergarten. We love the school and academics. Communication between parent and teacher is very responsive. Teachers give personnel interest to the kids. Principal pays attention to the school and school rules. For e.g. in the peak winter bad weather days, principal stays outside the school to monitor the parents and vehicles who are trying to drop their kids to follow the rules so that safety is in place.
They use creative ways to impact knowledge to the Children and I am proud to be part of the process as a Parent.
The teachers seem to have a genuine interest in their students learning abilities. I would say that there isn't that much communication outside of parent/teachers meetings on an individual student. During these one on one meetings I got a good sense on how my child is really doing in school. Her grades and work were above par and I think that has a lot to do with the interaction between the students/teachers in the classroom.
I am very impressed by this school, I have 2 kids attending and I feel they have learned alot, have become good citizens and also they actually love to attend school. The pricipal (Mr. Skowronski) is a very good guy, he is a little strict, but he needs to be to suceed in his role. He prides himself on the school and I like that alot. The teachers, like Mrs Good, Mrs. White, Mr. McCuskey, Miss Silvestri etc- are all tremendous. They care about the children and want them to grow. As a parent , I feel lucky to have this school in our area.
I have 2 boys attending Dwight Eisenhower and I only have excellent things to say about this school. Coming from the NYC public school system, I find that the academics is not only superior to that of NYC but the quality of the eduction is far beyond what was expected.
The eisenhower elemenatary school needs improvement overall. The teacher/principal communiaction is not welcoming to parents and should have a turnaround time for call backs. The website needs a full update to enhance the experience for parents and students providing more detailed information about school programs. The after care program specifically needs to improve their manner of handling parents and children. They really portray a bad attitude and yell way too much. They overall look and act as if they do not like children. It is reallt scarey. In addition the aftercare staff should monitor children more effectively while outdoors. Their is way too much hitting and shoving outdoors. I am looking to move my children out of this school for the next school year.
I have not had many problems with the school system itself. The teachers are quite helpful in helping with academics and problems that the children have. However, there should be more supervision during recess on the play ground. My children shouldn't come home with bruises from other children. I have found that some teachers raise their voice singling out certain children in the classroom, which is demeaning and an improper teaching tool. They become fearful of making mistakes rather than learning from them. Most of the time issues are immediately addressed. However , those that aren't are brushed away...which creates anxiety and stress for the children. They are already under a lot of pressure to succeed. My children are learning things in this elemantary school that I wasn't expected to learn until middle school. While this is great, it is also stressful for the children.

This school is very good. The security is great, the principal is very good. The only think I don't like is that my 3 daughter have to pay for lunch.
