While it is very competitive to be admitted to the Academy of Math, Science & Engineering, the support of fellow students and staff is wonderful. My daughter is challenged by the intense curriculum, but she loves the school. A prospective student needs to be organized, self-motivated and disciplined. With a maximum class size of 23, the students get to know each other very well and are willing to help each other out both in class and out. All the benefits of a small school setting in a larger regional high school. Unfortunately, the middle schools in Morris County do not promote the Academy as an alternative to the regular high school because of $$$.
