Profile Completeness

INTERMEDIATE

Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

The correct name is Holy Savior Academy now. My son went to PreK-4 here and the teacher is just the most wonderful teacher one could ask for. She loves the kids and goes above and beyond the call of duty. My other son will be attending in the fall.

It would be great if you could update your website to reflect the new name of the school: Holy Savior Academy.

School needs to inform parents of academic status by revealing the overall standarized test scores of the students in comparison to the other catholic schools in the dioscese. Much improvement is needed in test scores, teaching of curriculum, as well as preparedness of graduates going onto high school. It has been my experience that graduates are below average when entering high school and with this being a private school, my expectations are higher.

It is a fact that participation and involvement of the pastor in the school is extremely important as it is with a CEO of a company. I feel that this is lacking in the case of SHS. Many concerns of parents fall on deaf ears and are not being addressed properly, which may ultimately lead to the failure of the school. This school needs to clean house and try to rebuild its reputation. Our drop in enrollment and poor standardized test scores speak for themselves.

The person who wrote the previous review has been misinformed. That is the only reason I can think of as to why someone would write such a review.Test scores are not low at Sacred Heart. My child's scores in Language and Reading were off the charts, Math etc were well above average, as were many of her classmates. A testament to the wonderful teachers at SHS.

I totally don't agree with prior review. I have 3 children in Sacred Heart, oldest just graduated last year. Sacred Heart is a wonderful secure, loving place. By no means is it unstable in anyway. I am so proud of my kids and the wonderful people they are becoming. I can only credit so much of that to their school. They are kind, considerate and have manors. The bond the kids have with their peers of all ages and the faculty is undeniable. I made the right choice when I chose Sacred Heart 10 years ago for my oldest and would make that choice again today!!!

I almost left the school at the end of the year, but I am very happy that I didn't. The school is going in the right direction with looking for a new princiapal. Now they have to follow with getting a new preist who actally loves the school. My children love this school, they feel like it is a second home for them. I have loved all the teachers that my chidren have had, also there are many sports for the kids to do. This school is a very happy, and loving enviorment for all kids. I would recommend this school to anyone.

My children have been students at Sacred Heart for many years. Saying we are very please and satisfied with the education and environment is an understatement. The bond the children have with the principal and teachers is unbelievable, they are truly family. This is what we were looking for when we choose a school for our children. Thank You.

I am an alumna from Sacred Heart and the material taught to me at this school has helped me in high school a great deal. The student to teacher ratio is small which gives the student time to ask questions and really able to wrap their minds around the material. Sacred Heart also is an excellent environment for adolescence to be taught. It is a postive atmosphere where religion plays a big role. It is safe environment for children as well. The extracurricular activities which are offered at Sacred Heart bring in the whole family and keeps the kids active in both physically and in the school. I am glad my parents chose for me to go to this school.

I am an alumnus of Sacred Heart. I do not feel I was prepaded well for high school and am struggling to keep up with the other kids that went to other catholic schools in the area. I'm behind in science, history, math, and especially reading. I was disapointed with the school while I was there, but now that I'm in high school I reolize how much it really set me back.

I have a son in the upper grades and one in the lower grades. Leaving the public school environment for Sacred Heart was the best move we ever made. The school provides a very challenging, nurturing and safe environment. No police presence needed here! Best investment we ever made. Principal & teachers are top notch! Recommended highly.

My child will be leaving the school at the end of this school year. Upper grades are a free for all lacking any discipline where little or no learning can take place. Unless significant changes occur, I wouldn't keep a child in that environment.

My two children are thriving at Sacred Heart. They love to go to school - what does that tell you? The curriculum seems to be fine in my judgement- I don't feel my children are at any disadvantage compared to the public school system. In fact, I think they're receiving a superior product! The Principal ia a fair and 'no-nonsense' type of educator, the type of which is sorely needed today. There is a good core group of parents involved with the school; but there can always be more involvment. But that situation is the same everywhere. On a scale of 1 to 10, I give Sacred Heart a solid '9' as there's ALWAYS room for improvement.

My grandchildren go to Sacred Heart School and I truly feel it is a great school, with good teachers along with a superior education. They are disciplined with appropriate guidelines for behavior in and out of the classrooms. I especially enjoy taking the day off from work and being involved in Grandparents day which is a very special time for us. I sincerely hope the school, teachers, parents, staff and children continue to prosper for many many more years.

Sacred Heart is a wonderful environment. I have 3 children who attend. This is a small school that not only teaches a great cirriculum, but they also focus on morals and values that you can't put a price tag on. I give Sacred Heart School my highest recommendations. The principal and the teacher are top notch!!

Activities like art, music, computers, library and Spanish are very limited (20 minutes per week) in time and scope. Curriculum is OK, but your experience will be largely driven by the individual teaching your child's class. In my opinion, children need to be better engaged in the learning experience than they are in most classrooms here. Great place if your child needs a more structured environment and does not need much personal attention. Much focus on discipline, less so on how the teacher's actions impact and imprint on the children.

My husband and I survived the first conference with that unchristianlike principal too. She does not give one a chance to express their viewpoints. I am not saying that my child is perfect, but she is too busy condemning others.

If you take away the principal, this school will thrive again and reach the top academically like it has done previously. Resigning in June because of her...

Just survived my first, and hopefully last parent teacher conference with the principal. My husband and I found her to be a very uncaring, angry, and defensive person who did not care to listen to us.

The principal should examine herself before criticizing both students and faculty. She is truly a 'disgrace to this school.' She needs to go...Otherwise, we love all of the other staff and faculty.

Reading the reviews about this principal saddens me. Reminds me of how she was at her old school. Thought she would have made a fresh start. Guess I was wrong. I will pray for her.

This principal needs to retire. She is arrogant, judgemental, and plays favorites with certain teachers and students. Please promote someone else to this job...Both staff and students are unhappy...

It's time for the new principal to retire... We agree with all of the above comments about the principal. Without her it would be a great school!

Parents were more involved with the former principal as the new one is not as friendly or effective(academically) as the previous principal. We do love the teachers...and staff...and pastor...

We are not very satisfied with the new principal either. She is not a true example of what a good Christian should be. She plays favorites with the students and parents.
