The principal and some of the teachers are good, supportive, and strict. Children need more attention in literacy and more reading practice and support at home. Children need to be taught at home that learning is their job. There are many kids with lazy attitudes about education here. Of course there are some good students also.

Nava elementary in general is a great school. We have gone through a very difficult time in the past few years. We have changed principals a number of times. At one time Nava was an outstanding school under the guidance of former principal Gloria Lopez. I have been a parent at Nave consecutively for 16 years and currently have a kindergartener so I expect to be there another 6 years including this year. We currently have a wonderful principal and I have hopes that we can retain her and that she will help bring Nava back to the wonderful school I know it can be. It is still a good school and we have a great parent community and this is why I continue to keep my kids there. I just know that it can and will get better with the guidance of our new principal Anita Cisneros. Thanks Mrs. Cisneros.
