The teachers have heart however there is no cohesion. It seems that students are getting through each grade level without purpose. Not a school that believes or supports that all students are college bound. I'm not sure if it's demogrphics stearing the teaching or vis versa I'm not going to keep my kids there to find out. The test ratings are low and the school needs to seriously find out why and make aggressive changes; the entire SFPS needs this. I don't see why they don't take a school with high ratings and use them as a model. My kids started in a school with high standards. That school started teaching the kids responsibilty and accountibilty from the kindergarten level. This works, the highschool that those kids graduate to has high test ratings in math(92.8) and reading(91.9). Posting on 12/14/05 'nice and sweet' is not a way to gauge teaching skills.

The teachers seem to be OK not great. Because my daughter isn't the weakest link in her class she doesn't even get a parent teacher conference. The sad part is she is 2 years behind. I m pulling her out. The bulling hasn t gotten any better from the prior post.

School struggling with heart and great teachers

My son is in the 6th grade at this school and he cannot stand going. I have spoken to Mr Guiterrez several times about some problems going on in the school for example; bullying and fighting. This is yet to be resolved and his teacher does not listen to him. The prior years at the school (4th and 5th grade) were not so bad. I dont know what happened this year. I do not recommend this school at all. I am in the process of transfering him out!
