This school is a very welcoming school. You dont only learn but you also have fun while learning new and different things. They give students the ability to be them selves and learn how to not care what other people think. They teach you alot and let you see and experience mant new things. They also have stict rules and laws to follow.
I am a 2007 graduate of AHS, and I absolutely loved it there! They give students every opportunity to succeed, through service learning, explorer groups, extra curricular activities, ties with Orleans Niagara BOCES, and an amazing staff! The staff becomes very one on one with the students, some of them staying after school on their own time until 3-4 or later! Whether you're a rocker and have a bunch of piercings, wear hand me down clothes, or only american eagle; you're treated with dignity and respect. Albion's guidance, faculty and support staff are second to none!
I also graduated from albion high school in 2004. Albion employs highly qualified instructors who are also great people within the community. In the past albion had an excellent music department and recently (a few years back) vast amounts funding were spent on renovations to the auditorium, bandroom and instruments(middle school). Students from albion play sports and go to college (due to extra aid offered by colleges) based on their abilities on (and off) the field (extra-aid/scholarships for being in band are relatively non-existant)
The school is a great one to attend with a great focus on betterment and academics. There are minimal confrontations between students and teachers. Also, the sports teams are highly competitive and a great experience for players and parents alike.
they don't prepare kids for college. need to teach high school in a way that does. there sports tend to be more important then music. they need to invest more in the music department.
I attended Albion High School and graduated as a member of the class of 2004. Many of the staff members at this school treat students unfairly. Unless your child is considered a 'prep', expect them to be treated like a lesser class of people. Rules at this school don't seem to apply to those that are popular (the dress code for example). Many of my friends were unjustly punished for things they did when had they been considered a 'prep', the faculty would have ignored it.
I'm not a parent but I went to ACS and I have to say its a great place to go to school. I learned so much while I was there. Now im in the United States Army waiting for my orders to go to Iraq and I feel that the foundation of my life is the schools in Albion.
My child goes ACS and she absolutely loves it. Everyday she comes home with something new and exciting she has learned at school. This is truly a great school and deserves 5 stars.
