I attended this school until the end of 11th grade. I then transferred to a different school my Senior year. I found the differences startling. A-A had no dress code, no cops, and a relaxed learning environment with fantastic teachers. The other school had a very very strict dress code among other differences.

AACS is a wonderful district. The Elementary School in particular is outstanding. I have two issues with AACS, one being no 'late' bus runs and two being 'closed borders'.

We chose this district because there is a huge difference in the quality of this school. If you look at all of the other schools in this county, THIS school stands out. The main difference we noticed was that they demand a great deal of parent involvement and much more from the children. It was a big adjustment but we were thrilled! Our son was considered gifted in the other school but was behind academically here which shows how far behind other schools are. Not as much sportwise but a good music program. GREAT for my autistic son as Wellsville did nothing for him. Alfred bends over backwards for him.No preschool and that should change. Very rural. Some cliqueiness between Almond and Alfred kids. Taxes high in Alfred. Please consider Alfred...its a great school. For this county you cant beat it. No drugs, cops, guns...high academic standards.
