For at least the past 3 years 25%- 33% of the teachers have left each school year. Many highly qualified, dedicated professionals have left and that is a serious problem. If you look at similar local A rated schools, they have many veteran teachers and a low turn over rate. The administration at PS 226 should think long and hard about how the treat, train and retain teachers or risk remaining a C school for years to come.
I love Ps 226 because they find the way to help your child in all they need academy, emocional, is like you feel is the second home, thank you ps 226 for all your help with Diana and Devin.
My son has been in this school for over three years. In the beginning, the school was in shambles, however in the last year, they have made progress. My only complain is that there is no Special Education classes offered. I would like to see that happening in the near future.
The school is great, it has a good and caring staff. I feel my children are safe in this school, unlike many other schools.
