The principal at this school is dealing with many challenges. Higher standards from the DOE and resistant parents that don't like change. Many of these parents feel the changes going on in the school are personal attacks from the Principal. They fail to realize she gets her orders from the DOE and that she must follow the rules or lose her job! These parents want to be so involved in THEIR childrens lives but they are resistant to the Academic changes going on. Why? Our children are our future we must have high expectations for them and stop fighting change. Work with your kids and stop working against the administration. I think some of these parents should try "homeschool" as many of them have a lot of time on their hands.

It is very unfortunate what is going on in this school. In response to the person who thinks it is the parents running the school...by no means is that true. We are a wonderful community with caring teachers, parents and wonderful children who now have to deal with unsafe situations and a principal who lacks respect for the children, teachers and parents. The proof is in our school rating we went to a "C". Really?? How did the parents do that? It is certainly not the teachers, most of which have been at the school when we received an "A".Could it possibly be the removal of spelling and phonics? Is this the "agenda" you were referring to by the principal. Yes the scoring changed work with it. Something has to be done to bring this school and community back together.I don't think petitions can help -note the correct spelling of the word. Get involved!! Communication, respect, and a willingness to listen is what is truly needed to turn this situation around. These children have there whole lives in front of them and we are there advocate. I would rather be guilty of caring to much, trying to hard, and being to pushy for the children of this neighborhood then not caring at all.

This is my boys first semester in this school and so far it has proven to meet every expectation that I've had of it. The teachers are great and the Principal is like no other, she really gets involved with her school and doesn't just sit behind a desk. The school offers great academic challenges to the students and I am glad that my boys are there. M. Dopwell Hall

I have had my daughter in 222 now for a second year, she is so happy there.( Which is always such a pleasure for any parent) the teachers are excellent, they are very loving and caring and also at the same time on top of their students, when work is to be done and completed. I am extremely happy with the parent coordinator, who is always keeping up to date on all the activities and concerns about or with the school. Our principal staff is phenomenal, they keep the kids motivated and keep the school running very smoothly. The wonderful teachers and principal always make time for the parents our children. Thank you ps 222 for another excellent year! mrs. Jm

My kids attended this school and I must say the academic programs are excellent. We have a morning programs for the one who need extra help and we have a tutoring program done by volunteers, which is a very excellent program. We really could do a lot more in terms of extra curricular activities let's see what happens next school year. Parent involvement is tops. PA meetings are well attended and parents involvement is excellent. I could not have chosen a better school for my kids. Thanks to the excellent guidance of the Principal and the caring teaching staff that I came to know. Thanks a million. Continue the excellent work and Reach for the Stars.
