Our school consists of a diversity of language learners. The majority of the students are Spanish speakers that are learning English. The ambiance is of a quality of education that is fueled by the teachers eagerness to teach explicit student centered instruction. It is difficult for the students to learn a new language at a rapid pace. The teachers work diligently along side of the administrators and parents to establish a community of students that pride themselves in their learning. I like the fact that the students, parents, and staff work together to meet the students' needs. We could improve the school by building a foundation that allows parents to participate fully in the understanding of common core standards and how they will be utilized within the school to assist the development of each learner.
