As an alumnus ('03), I found this school most unsatisfactory and would not dream of sending my son there. There are many reasons. Foremost among these is the lack of value. For the cost of SUNY tuition, you receive a school with fewer classes, fewer APs by far, fewer internships, fewer sport teams, and fewer clubs than a comparable public school. My sister attended Ken West while I was at SJCI. I often regretted my parents' decision to send me there in light of my sister's experience at West, namely the wider selection of honors and AP classes. St Joe's often cites the (usually modest) accomplishments of alums, which I chalk up not to superior education by ANY means, but rather that a large proportion of SJCI students hail from Buffalo old money. The silver-spoon ideal is most prevalent. I had some good and some awful teachers. The principal was, as far as I could tell, excellent. But none of this counters the fact that at SJCI you get access to fewer resources in a cash-strapped school with a student body small enough to be eclipsed by myriad nearby public schools.

Greatest school ever. The principal and vice principals are incredible. All of the teachers are great and it's a great enviorment to be in. It's in a good neighborhood and has excellent education and sports. The AP classes, and national recognized sports teams make St. Joe's the best school in the city.

Outstanding all boys high school. Outstanding disapline, great teachers and staff with a great leader in the principal. One of the best schools in the area.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
