I'm holding off my full review until further notice i'll be sure to get back with you i need more time to further evaluate the school
We transferred our older child from another private school to Nardin in 6th grade. There was more work and it was much harder, BUT she loves it. She was actually sad in the summer because there was no school! Our younger child attended the Nardin Montessori school and loved it. She made the transition to the Nardin traditional school with no problems and is just thriving there too. For us, it is worth the sacrifice to send our kids here because of the high academic standards and because there is nothing better than seeing your kids enjoying school so much. Sending our kids to Nardin was the best decision for us as parents. The school exceeds our expectations, which are very high!
very happy with the school. That being said i should and better be given the tuition has gone up about 50% in the last 7 years.Prospective parents should be warned the board will probably continue to raise the tuition 500 per year per student so what you pay in preschool wont be what youll pay by 4th grade.
The faculty and staff here are co caring, concerned and thoughtful, it makes sending my kids to school everyday - a pleasure. The Montessori is lucky to have a super director that is approachable, intelligent and concerned. My children have had a great experience here and have grown as people due to the Montessori philosophy.
This is the best school in New York State! It is the place to go if you want your child to learn how to learn and enjoy it! Nardin Academy empowers girls and prepares them to become tomorrows leaders. It offers everything a school should and more.
Academically rigorous, nurturing, with an extremely dedicated, supportive, and caring faculty. Traditional approach to teaching. Not the highest academic ranking (should be given the level of tuition). Not at all diverse--either racially or socioeconomically. Pretty much an enclave for the upper middle class and well to do, as financial assistance is not offered. This is its downfall, as its student body goes through life without much of a sense of what is beyond their little bubble. Great foreign language program starts in early grades. Good writing program. Dismal offerings for the arts other than music. Lots of computers present but lacking in technology instruction--way behind other schools. Can tend to be a political environment. Big contributors to the school get kid glove treatment over everybody else. Too many (unchecked) ill-behaved kids and promiscuous middle- schoolers, especially considering the school's strong religious (Catholic) mission. Sense of entitlement among many kids.
