We moved here from downstate New York. My child was placed in a class that held 6 of the 7 new students entering his grade, a very high number of students with behavioral issues and several children who the teacher kept telling, in front of the class, were unable to complete the 5th grade. Bullying, violence, poor leadership, lethargic parents. it's been almost a year since we pulled him out of there. He's still working through the damage done there.

The teachers and everyone employed there are there because they love the children. They all help to install values, character and so much more. They go above and beyond what is asked of them. Thank You Catskill Elementary School.

Teachers and supposrt staff at Catskill Elementary School genuinely care about each and every student, As a parent of 2 children who have been thru CES, I could NEVER thank them enough, Think about it, our children spend over 6 hours a day with these people...they help mold out children into productive, responsible, respectfull individuals. Thank you CES staff!

We have a son in first grade and believe strongly in public education. If you are also involved in your child's education, a public school system can work for you, even if the district doesn't have an abundance of resources. We feel lucky to live in Catskill and think the elementary school and administration is competent and of course, could be better, but overall, it's a good school and only getting better. I think if you give it a try, you'd be surprised by the high quality. We were!

This school has problems. There are so many kids with behavioral problems that are allowed to stay in school at the expense of the good children. Teachers have a hard time dealing with the issues and spend more time on behavior then teaching.

I have had children in this school for 6 years now and never a problem what so ever, if the child is behaved and willing to learn then there shouldn't be a problem, 6 years many great teachers. There are so many programs that other schools don't have, but your child has to be deserving of them for you to notice them, we send our children to learn.

My teacher is Ms. Sirago. She is a great teacher. She does fun things in class, for example, makes us learn to balance a checkbook. I am an enrichment student, band, safety patrol. I don't agree with the principal leadership as they ask students for opinions on how to discipline when the code of conduct should be followed.
