Parker is a small school, which can be nice, but it means that it doesn't have much to offer. My child is gifted, and while the teachers have made some effort to meet her needs, it hasn't really worked. There is parent involvement in fund-raising for some extra-curricular activities but we have found it difficult to make a space for being involved in decisions regarding our child's education. There is a fair amount of focus on test preparation. Our daughter's first grade homework includes pages of repetitive worksheets, and it seems like her native enjoyment of math and readings is being slowly beat out of her. Despite this focus, the school doesn't perform particularly well on tests. I'm guessing that will mean even more of the same. Meanwhile, we'll be moving to a different school district.
