in short. they are disorganized. they dont look out for our children. the children are treated as adults and make desicions as such. there is no sucurities in force to protect your children. their lunch is only 20 min. and the asst principle told me that my kids issues in school were all becuase of my parenting. only one teacher out of 2 grades worth actually keeps contact with the parents. i've never been so disappointed in a school.

This school has improved greatly over the last few years. I have virtually no complaints. The principals are responsible and the teachers are too. There is a principal, 4-5 teachers and a resource officer (though there has not been any trouble) in every lunch period and a principal in every grade level wing during the mornings before homeroom. The school and its entire district has been improved. Two computer labs in Pine grove were renovated and new computers were bought. Pine Grove was relandscaped with new parking lots and sidewalks and two new roads to deal with traffic congestion. What I found to be most assuring at Pine Grove was the ease of its system and the quality of its teachers. The students enjoy many of their classes because they have quality teachers that know how to make class educational and fun.

I found the teaching teams this school uses to be a particularly effective way for the school and home to work together. Parents can request to sit in on one of the regular team meetings between their student's academic instructors and get a nice broad overview of how the child is doing and also get a variety of suggestions how to help. It's a great way to see any trends or determine that a problem is isolated to only one teacher. Plus you don't have to coordinate a bunch of schedules because the team meets regularly. I found this arrangement to be very helpful in dealing with my teenage son's academic challenges.

The district is not the best. it is a mix of kids from the city and the more suburban area. there is a lot of fights that take place and a very high amount of drug use. The teachers sometimes do not teach very well, however the sports at this school are good.
