The principal is good, but the teachers take too long to notify parents of problems until they become a crisis. The arts programs are not what they used to be. The new building is nice, but the teachers and counselors need to step up to the plate to make everything jive. Too much bullying going on, too many bullies getting away with things, even though this is the perfect age group to place a kibosh on it.

i pulled my child from this school. It was horrible, the kids, the atmosphere & just everything. The children there had no displine what so ever and my child would explain the fights and weird things going on at that school. So i had to pull my child out.

Very difficult school for a child to thrive in. Too much focus on the brainy kids with awards, etc. Poor communication with parents. If your child is just average in school they don't take the time to help. They just assume every kid learns the same way. Only good thing is the music and sports programs. That is for kids that have parents that can afford to transport them everywhere.

I agree with a previous reviewer that academically inclined students will thrive. Unfortunately average students performance appears to decline from elementary to middle school in Union-Endicott. There are some excellent teachers in the building but far too many who don't care about students' academic success and who make minimal effort to do their job with excellence. Students readily imitate that teacher apathy. There is far too little effort to communicate meaningful information with parents. With modern technology, there is no excuse for the lack of information to parents. Had there been a good private alternative, I would have pulled my child out of this school.

Academically inclined children will thrive, like minded students find similar interested students. Theatrical, musical and artistic opportunities abound for those who can find their own transportation home, after school bus is only for remedial students or athletics. Parental involvment is limited to transportation, audience and financial backer.

We are not very pleased with the way it is run. The school needs new leadership to move forward. Communication is Key.

I agree, teachers need to have better communication skills, and establish a greater role with parents. they also need to take an educational responsibility for our children while in their care and not assume that it's the parent's fault that a child is failing. I have turned blue with making trips to the school to assist in my son's academics. still, teachers show no sign of helping!

I think the school has no rules the school needs new leader ship. I hate my child going there if there was another choice I would pull her from there.
