In some cases, this is one of the best high schools in the area. It has a lot of AP classes and strong links to Hobart & William Smith. It has a large number of graduates that go on success in college and careers. On the other hand, the school is a very large reminder of the politics in the district. The school's former principal, who was a very strong and capable administrator as well as a devoted community member was denied tenure a couple of year ago for reasons that were mostly outside of his control. The faculty can be very cliquish here and show favoritism towards students or breaking appropriate teacher/student interaction guidelines. Discipline can also be a problem given the high poverty rate in the district, as well as freshmen coming in after being coddled in the middle school for three years. Administration almost has to run the school like a prison at times because of the discipline issues that sometimes arise. Is this a bad school? No. But it has the potential to be so much better than it currently is.

The teachers give of themselves for the students. AP classes in the sciences, math, english and social studies are offered. There is a strong musical production yearly. Sports are numerous including boy's hockey and girl's lacrosse. The only downfall is the parent involvement. There is a large population of parents who never come into the school and don't participate in their child's education or the inner workings of the school.

Geneva High School is one of the best High Schools I know. They are respectful, caring and have a great record! They have the best chorus and band concerts. If i went to the High School in Geneva, i would love to brag about it and suggest it to others for future reference. I have noticed lately that the Geneva schools are doing very good at beating any other school sports. they are the best at volleyball and the swim team. I would love to see the reactions kids have when they visit from different schools. I hope they have many visitors!
