Hamburg High School has been a great experience so far!! I have been challenged and am always thriving to move forward. My teachers see my ambition and guide me to do the best of my ability. If you want to be on top, Hamburg will help you get there.
Hamburg High School offers a variety of programs to suit any students interests. From the arts and drama programs to the athletic teams, there is just so much to choose from. They also offer many AP classes to challenge even the brightest young mids. If you want to succeed and challenge yourself, Hamburg will help you do it.
i love hamburg it is fun and the teachers are all really great they work with you inorder to help you help your child. i really enjoyed see my children grow up at hamburg and i love the school.
I have had two sons go thru the Hamburg High School. Both did very well. I especially liked the personal attention and the honest concern my sons. Presently, I have a daughter who is in 9th grade and so far - she LOVES the Hamburg High School.
I rate this school average. My son is a student and the communication between teacher and student could be better. Teachers should be able to communicate with parents by email. Not all teachers are willing or want to in this day and age should not be choice. All assignments should be on the computer. Other schools are doing this hamburg is falling behind. The high school should be setting the example. I am very disappointed and do not think hamburg is getting my son ready for college.
I think that Hamburg was a springboard to a higher education across the country. I have seen so many of my friends become successful teachers, doctors, engineers, etc. from Hamburg and recommend the school not only for it's academia, but also for it's sports programs, music programs and statewide recognitions. I am attending school UB for Environmental Engineering, and I am proud to say I grew up in WNY and attended school at Hamburg!
My daughter went to this school and now is a junior in one of the top engineering schools in the US and is there on scholarship. I think Hamburg did well for her, to say the least.
Graduate of class of 2005, I do not feel Hamburg High School adequately prepared me for college in a technical field (software engineering) As of then, there were no courses dealing with computers other than introductions to Microsoft Office products. I had excellent math teachers, all retired now. I feel that if I had majored in a liberal art or education (which seems to be the norm coming out of Hamburg) I wouldn't have had a problem.
The teachers in the Science department are great, they really listen to the kids are truly there to help them.
Hamburg High has got to be one of the most educational and fun-orientated schools in Western New York. I hear from my friends in other districts that don't appreciate their teachers and the atmospere just isn't the same. I love the fact that my parents sent me to a school where I can learn and have fun at the same time! Hamburg also has a great sports program; Hamburg is known for their boys and girls lacrosse, boys basketball, boys and girls volleyball, boys swim team, and track and field teams across their section! Hamburg has the second highest graduation rate in New York state, and the recent high school graduates (2004) number at 264 with 82% continuing with their formal education in either a trade school or college/university. To hear this from a fellow student of Hamburg High means a lot and I hope you take interest in Hamburg.
