I'm a 7th grader and this school needs some more activities, and programs. Many of the teachers does not stay after school. Very little goes on here past 4:00pm except athletics. The quality of the classes and course offerings needs to improve. Especially Gym. I have been told that many courses will be cut so this school probably has no bright future for my brother and sister. Very low academic standards. School has few components which is: Staying after improves learning, AIS support team, instructional team, and PTA, and Activities and athletics. No gifted program. I'm excited to see the change in this school when my younger sister comes here.
it's a place where all kids are encouraged to do their best and to be good citizens of their school, community and world.
Caring teachers and a good philosophy of caring prevail in this school. However, music options are limited and there's been huge turnover in music faculty, much to dismay of many. Parents are very involved, a pleasure to experience. School seems to have low academic standards; students are not known for their writing skills. In general, teacher expectations are too low. Best part about the school is that the students seems to like it there.
The quality of academic programs is about average for a small school in a rural setting. There is availability of music and art programs, not the best but ok. However, the library is un-audited (old card catalogue system)! Parent involvement is about average, with poorer families not involved at all. Medium level of professionalism, except for the Director of Curriculum and Instruction. The faculty and staff at the middle school are easy to communicate with. Unfortunately, the Director of Curriculum and Instruction talks 'down' to parents, and alienates and students.
