My kid just in the gade 1 for the last 8 months. It is being a great experience with this school. The communication from the principle and the teacher are great. Excellent leadership for the principle. Although there are many fields that the teacher(s) can be improved, the teacher does show an attitude that improvement is on the way. Activities are appropriate organized. Discipline wise is OK - with all the purpose to teach the young kids how to observe a rule(s). I would encourage you to consider this school for your young kids.

Our child has been at Gayhead from K thru 3rd grades and is starting the 4th grade. There are typically about 23 students per class. Each class typically has 1 teacher. Occasionally an aide will assist them. We are very happy with our child's academic performance and learning environment. They have after school clubs, band, orchestra, chorus, etc. There are many PTA events such as spelling bee's, science fairs, art fairs, etc. This is a great school.

I am very pleased with Gayhead Elementary. They put the children first. The leadership as well as the teachers are all wonderful. The parental involvement is great.

Being one of the largest elementary schools in New York State presents a difficult situation on its own...just over 1,000 students at this school and they deserve a lot of credit. Excellent teachers and very well run.

School is way too big, school board controlls everything not the indv. school. Great teachers, have not had problems with them and have had three children in the school.
