Whoa, whoa! Who says northeast is bad? It's a great school, + It's fun! It's worksheets are fun while educating and challenging the minds and brains. It helps you when in trouble, and the principal is fun! So what are you saying about northeast?
If this is the best that Ithaca has to offer then we are in trouble! The kindergarten teacher is rigid, cold, uninspiring, and perfunctory. The work sheets are basic, repetitive, and unchallenging. If the intent is to focus on social emotional development versus academics, then they should at least do some singing, dancing, storytelling, exploring of their environment, etc. All the attention goes to the ESL or special ed children and the more advanced children are ignored. We know other families feel this way and wish they would speak up instead of just protecting their property values. Parents are involved here because they have to be-- otherwise their children would fall behind!
My son went to NE for PreK then we moved to SouthHill. I can't say enough about the PreK program. Kelly Craft is wonderful and I honestly can't imagine a better teacher. She truly cares for the children and my son's future teachers will have to live up to high expectations because of her. The pricipal is very involved and is wonderful too! Great school and highly recommended!
Our sons went to Montessori school in Kindergarten and then moved to NE. One is now in middle school, the other is about done. I will recommend this school to anyone who wants their children to have a solid education, caring teachers, and supportive staff.
The staff is caring and capable and the PTA is amazing!
What a great school! My daughter attended kindergarten and loved it. She and several of her classmates would call their teacher 'mommy' by mistake, that's how much they loved her. The diversity was a great experience for both my daughter and me. Parents are very active in the school and sponsor a great after-school enrichment program. The staff is thoughtful and welcoming. A friend of ours from Spain with two children in the school said the education they got here was much better than that they received in Spain. It is a fun place to learn.
All my children have attended this school for seven months by now. They respect highly teachers for their great efforts for teaching. This school provides an excellent environment for learning and living. We love this school. The principal is very kind and easy to communicate with parents. All school staffs are enthusiastic in giving their best influences to kids and parents.
My daughter has had the best experience at Northeast school. The level of parental involvement is very high, which makes for a rich afterschool program and lots of fun events. It is so culturally diverse, giving students a real understanding and appreciation for what it's like to be a kid in other countries. The best school we've had experience with! Highly recommended.
I like the school because it has a lot of diversity.
I have had three kids in this school. It is excellent and compares favorably to a private school in Europe. Great teachers, principal, staff. Very multi-cultural.
