I went to Lyons all my life was a good school than! I don't know what happened. Some of the teachers are very very unfair and don't know how to handle alot of the kids. Even the principal has no clueat times. I have children that attend there now, and I was really thinking about sending them elsewere but it's a little bit difficult to do. My children don't like it here at all. They really need to take a good look at there teaching staff half of them should.nt even be there!!!! This school only beleives in detentions, out of school and inschool it's the easiest way for them to handle the kids.. Just my opinion... Want a great school go to Phelps,n.y. my kids attended there no problems whats so ever. Just my opinion again.

My children switched to Lyons Senior High School in 9th grade. They felt welcomed, despite differences in learning priorities and in students. Many teachers conduct helpful courses, college level credits are available, and extensive resources exist for students with challenges. Sometimes, greater emphasis is placed on following rules (or appearing to) than engaging 'at-risk' students or developing their practical abilities to learn and work. For example, detentions, suspensions, and dropping out are commonplace, and represent short-term and long-term costs to the entire community. Still, students with home support have many opportunities for extracurricular activities (they even can do two things at the same time) in addition to required classes. Families who want the best for their teens may be quite satisfied with the small school experience, as collaborative leadership is striving to increase the health and well-being of students. Hopefully, their concern will include action to increase the graduation rate.

Lyons is a good place for kids who don't mind being around a small amount of kids. The small town feel is the biggest thing that you have to get by. The teachers are alright, but some are very unfair, like most schools. We do have good sports programs though.

Horrible! I went to this high school, first of all they shove the seventh graders in with the rest of the entire school, these kids aren't the best role models! I would never send my children to lyons high school...Not on their life.
