I love the school. My three children all came from the public Middletown School system, I have a child a in third grade, 6th grade and 8th grade. Definetly they are getting more challenging work at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel. I do believe they are being better prepared for High School and College. They are still teaching spelling, vocabulary regents level math as well as science. Monhegan and Maple Hill School is no longer being controlled by the teachers. Mt. Carmel school is truly about helping your child to learn and any thing they can do to help is not an issue. The students are respectful, and thier is great sense of community at the school. The children loves participating in school events. Now my son gets up early and can't wait to go to school. He wrote an essay and express he felt he was in a hostile enviroment at Monhegan Middle School.

I am a new parent in the OLMC "family". Even though the teachers, principlal, and faculty are nice, I feel that there discplinary code is very... SENSITIVE. I am finding that accidents are being discplined... I am really having a hard time keeping my child in this school. I look for God's guidance, as this should be a nurturing environment for my child.

I have 2 children in the school and I am very happy here. The school provides a safe, nurturing environment in which to learn. The principal and teachers know each child by name. There is a real sense of community and family involvement here. I encourage anyone considering the school to visit the campus.

This school left me far behind for high school. I was lost in freshman year when all the other students from catholic schools were getting 90 averages. The education part is poor but when it comes to religion they kept my faith strong. When I got to Burke High school I quickly became an atheist.

This is often a choice of school for those who live in the area and do not wish to send their child to public school. My son has gone to OLMC a few years now because of that reason. The school is small which is good but for the size there is much lacking when it comes to communication. Often the office, teachers and parents are not on the same page and this affects the students. It can be very frustrating. The school also lacks resources because of financial reasons. Money is always an issue. I wish the public schools were better in this area.

I am very unhappy with the school! They choose their favorites who are badly behaved and disrespect the others! It is awful! A kid said something bad and did not get in trouble! stupid! they don't like people form public schools either !

I am a new parent to OLMC. I feel that the school has great disapline. The teachers are good with the students, not always so much with the parents. The nurse is there two days a week which can be discouraging. They will send your kid home easily if they don't feel well. If we didn't live in this area, I would send my child to the public school.

In my opinion OLMC is an excellent school. I would know I recently graduated from the 8th grade class. Most of the teacher are wonderful! The class sizes are very small and the teachers are always willing to help. The school is a very safe and child friendly environment!

I'm a new parent to OLMC and I'm pleased with the results so far. Although I would think twice about using the pre-k program as it is mostly used by people not wanting to use daycare. Most of the kids in my kid's pre-k did not return for Kindergarden. The bingo is a pain but it comes with catholic school.

The teachers are great; however, the school is very unorganized and there is a lack of communication between school staff and parents. In fact, there is a lack a staff members in the school. They need to hire more help.
