The Cooke Center is established in various Catholic Elementary Schools throughout New York City. Basically they are a school inside a school. The dedication given to all of its students is tremendous. The Cooke Center truly gives its students the best availablity to learn through modular steps and inclusion. The Teacher quality is high with truly eager, patient and caring individuals. There are at least 3 or more progress and parental meetings during the course of a year. These meetings truly focus on the student and illustrates achievements and goals. The Cooke Center is simply a great step to take, a great step to give exceptional education to a child with a learning disablity.

Hands down, one of the best schools in New York City for kids with special needs. My daughter's (age 6) language was slow to develop, but her teacher and her speech therapist at Cooke have helped her reach a point where she is able to tell me about her friends at school and the things she is doing in the classroom. I wish they had an after-school program (they don't), but her class does all sorts of extracurricular activities. She is currently learning yoga--there are lots of opportunities for art, music, and sports, and the inclusion opportunities are great. Her teacher communicates well, and there is a real sense of 'team' when it comes to family involvement. I love the Cooke Center School and would recommend it highly!

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
