I am absolutely impressed by the 'can do' atmosphere throughout the school generated by energetic, super-positive teachers, plus a supportive faculty team. There is a team spirit and a joy of life vibe exemplified by a very committed principal. As a parent and new to this part of Harlem, I look forward to seeing my daughter here for years to come. The PTA ladies are a breath of fresh air from the stuffy ladies'

I am a parent of a 4th grader and I am very impressed at how the school is run. Dr 'Mac' is a great role model for the student especially the male students. I hope that the school continues on this path for years to come.

This school is great, my sons been going since pre-k, he is now in third grade. The whole school teachers,students and staff all get a+.

I am a proud PS 180 Jaguar parent of 2 children (K & 3rd grade. I could not ask for a better environment for my children. The Principal is warm and welcoming, the Parent Coordinator is there to assist you in whatever you need; the Teachers know and understand your individual child and is eager to work with you one on one. The child is the focus. This is a very well rounded school with emphisis on education and self esteem, self awareness and to give back to your community. Failure is not an option, College is expected and Self Success is the goal. Go JAGUARS!!!!!

Hugo Newman is one of Harlem s great schools there are so may activities for the students and parents from boy and girl scouts to the parents morning workout must of the teachers the I have dealt with have had a great attitude about providing a good learning environment for the children and the say yes foundation has really added to and over all great public school.

At present 2013-14 results are available only for English language arts and math. The tests are standards-based, which means they measure how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of New York. The goal is for 90% of students to meet or exceed grade-level standards on the tests.
