I graduated from Panama High School in 1964, on to Jamestown Com. coll. then on to Buff. State then onto 30 years of teaching, now retired and raising oysters in Snow Hill Maryland. Miss the old times at Panama.
Panama is a decent small school. I graduated a couple of years ago from Panama among the top students within my class. I enjoyed the small school and friendly atmosphere. Unfortunately, I found myself unprepared for college-level work. In high school I enjoyed not having much homework, not having to study a lot, and not being challenged even by the "advanced placement classes". In retrospect, I realize a challenging curriculum and a greater focus on academic achievement would have provided greater benefit. Panama does offer opportunities for extracurricular activities, but is slowly losing them due to decreasing class sizes. Also, I'm sure politics affect many school districts, but the presence of political tension affects Panama's school in many ways. I hope you find this review useful.
I think the teachers at Panama are rather wonderful. The entire atomosphere of the school remains friendly and open. The number of extracurriculars is good and the amount of school pride is outstanding.
This school is amazing. My daughter is the fourth generation from our family to attend this school and all of us have loved it. It's very personalized towards the students needs as well as towards parent involvement. Thanks Panama... for being a GREAT school!
