I am extremely impressed with this school. Our son went to a private school the year before, and his transition here was easy. They have great assessment skills for children that may need extra help in reading and math. They also have provide challenging work for chldren who are ahead of the curve. The teachers and staff are friendly and really make children and parents feel comfortable. This is a great school!

This was my children's school and it was like a second home to them. The principal checked on each child and once brought one of my kids home when he missed the bus.

Both my kids go to Scribner and I love it! I have seen many schools but none like the staff at Scribner.

the music program is excellent and the parent involvement is extensive. I also like all of the extracurricular activities offered such as Planet Science, the chess club and intramural sports. However, I am a little dissatisfied with the current 'fuzzy' math curriculum being promoted. Next year the curriculum is being amended somewhat to incorporate more standards and algorithms into the coursework so hopefully the students will end up being exposed to more traditional styles of learning as well. The problem right now is that students are not as fluent with their multiplication tables as we adults since they were never asked to memorize them. My daughter is currently being drilled at school daily (she is now in 5th grade) to try to correct this problem.

The music programs, choral and band, are EXCEPTIONAL, 2nd to none. The string program is also quite good. Academically, I have been very satisified with the school. All the teachers I have met, seem to truly enjoy the students. There is a wide variety of teaching styles to meet the needs of the individuals. Extra help seems to always be available when needed. Parental involvement is highly encouraged and welcomed. There are many opportunities for 4th and 5th graders to participate in after-school athletics. Other extracurricular activities include, but are not limited to: Chess Club, Planet Science, Movie Nights, and School Dances (2-3 per year). The only negative is that it is directly connected to the district middle school, which has been having some trouble recently (Fall 2005).
