Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

The gap between good and bad teachers is very wide. It seems like the new principal does not have much leadership, and rogue teachers do what they want while a few good teachers do their jobs. My 2nd one now has this "rogue" teacher who just yells at the students, gives them no time to express their opinions, and just wants to have controlled and quiet classroom that she is comfortable with. She interrupts students, is impatient with problem children, and treats kids with heavy bias. She gives all the good roles to one girl who obeys her well and calls her "star student". I had the same type of teacher for y 1st one as well. That teacher comes to the school only for her paychecks and does not do anything extra for the students. In my opinion, this school is over-rated. Don't expect much.

I have just graduated from this school and let me say it was okay. I was only here for 4th to 5th grade but let me tell you one thing, I sure know how this school works. First of all, the classes are too crowded. Whenever I raised my hand it took a while for the teacher to get to me. Another thing is that the classrooms are too small. The rooms are pretty cramped. Some rooms don't have an AC! Some rooms without it don't even have a fan! In my fifth grade class on the last month (June) I wore a tank and shorts and still sweating. Something I really love is that some teachers are really (REALLY) nice yet are also strict, which is good. Another thing I enjoyed was the violin program. Sadly this year they replaced it with creative dance! >:( I prefer violin because out of school, violin classes are expensive. And to add, they spend too much time on movies (during teacher's prep) and extra recess. That is a lot of time wasted. Also, the school was not so organized, since they would give notices at the last minute. That basically states all my complaints so thanks for reading :D. FYI, the science teachers and the 5th grade IGC teacher are some of the best teachers in the world!

P.S. 107 Thomas A Dooley Overall I must say this school is excellent. All my kids are currently attending and up to now all but one teacher was excellent. They really do take the time and effort to attend to the needs of all the children, It's no easy task considering there are approx 30 kids per class. The current principal is too new for me to make a firm judgement, but so far there is nothing negative to report. I have no experience with other elementary schools but one thing that surprised me was the amount of parent involvement at PS 107. Several times a year parents are invited to class. Of course, it's optional but most of the time the classrooms are packed with parents. There are also many workshops for kids and parents led by the parent coordinator. They really do try and promote parent participation. PS 107 also has ZERO tolerance for bullying. One of my kids was a little on the "rough" side the first few years and I can't tell you how many times we were called in. The teachers and school counselor met and spoke with me many times to try to resolve his problems. It took a while but my son finally settled down is a now well adjusted and studious child.

This is a wonderful school. My kids loved learning and attending every day. They have a great Parent Coordinator, who is easy to access for information or help with any situation. The Guidance department works with any issues you might be having school or home to make the year run smoothly with your child. I love this school.

I'm 20 years old now. I went to school at P.S 107 for 3rd and 4th grade and I remember my experience being nothing but good memories. The teachers I had were all great I remember Mrs. Holley (hope i have the spelling correct) being an amazing teacher. If your child goes here I'm sure he or she is having a great experience as did I.

I am extremely happy with P.S. 107 in Flushing, Queens! The school has an 'arts' focus. It not only provides an outstanding general curriculum, but also offers classes such as keyboard/piano, recorder, violin, percussion, swimming and much more! At the end of the year, the students perform on 1 of 3 nights to a full crowd in the auditorium! The parent coordinator, Ronnie, exceeds our expectations!!! Principal Phair and Ronnie are outside of the school every morning to greet the children. I can not say enough good things about the school. Our son's pre-K and K teachers have been fabulous!!!

P.S. 107 Q has been a great experience for my children and myself as a parent. At P.S. 107 education goes beyond math and reading. Our children are exposed to so much more, from the hands-on science lab to the arts. Having come from another school in District 25 about two years ago, I am able to compare and simply say, there is no comparison. At P.S. 107Q my children and I have encountered a school which invites the families through its many events to become a part of the school. I was very disappointed by the lack of rigor at PS 107. The preschool program only taught social skills and going to lunch, did nothing with the alphabet, kindergarden lacked structured reading, my son learned to read because I taught him how using phonics books from the public library - his kindergarden teacher didn't even know he could read. His first grade teacher used the 'new superintendent's rules' as an excuse for not teaching kids how to write. Now he's in second grade and I guess it will be up to me to teach him because he's not getting it at this school.

Well I also want to state a fact that at this time and age this is one of the most caring, responsible, understanding and professional schools that I might have been a part of. I was one of those parents that always was there and popped in and out of the building on regular basis and everything was always in place and in order. The staff starting with teachers all the way to school safety guards have always done a great job. I am still proud of this school and Mr. Phairs well done job. Know this coming Sept. 2004 I will rejoin the school again with my youngest son. Best wishes yet to come.

I am proud and honered that my son is in the school. Everybody on the staff is great especially the Principal Mr.Phair. He is simply a great human being who really cares about the school and the students. I will never forget nor will my son. Thank you 107!
