Amount of homework: Disagree

The Regents students obviously get much less or no homework at all. Both my daughters are AP students and they get a lot of challenging homework. When you have multiple AP classes this can sometimes be too much.

My daughters have excelled in Newfield. I've met their teachers and all of them are supportive, caring, and encourage students to succeed. Teachers are there to guide and teach, it's up to the student to choose to be a leader or a follower. Much learning comes from the parents are well. People need to stop blaming this school district which provides the necessary tools to succeed and start taking taking responsibility for their own actions. Regarding drugs, that's the parent's responsibility to teach their kids right from wrong, not the school district. The only thing I'd like to see improved is the use of my tax dollars. The school needs air conditioning. The District should not be spending money on stand-up desks or new lockers, to name only a couple of unnecessary purchases, but should consider the benefits of a comfortable learning environment.

was bad in the 1990's and is still lousy today, sure I have excelled and made it to a high station in live, but it was not from going to Newfield, my advice for parents, move to a better district if you can

Some of them can't even read, nor do they know their US presidents, and state capitals

A joke, a friend of mine had a smart child, who came home with no homework everyday, his parents sold their house and moved to Ward Melville District, the boy got a scholarship to Yale. Who knows what would have happened if he stayed at Newfield?

How can they do that if the teachers don't even know how to develop that?

I have been there for a few years now, and its really not as bad as people make it seem. Yes there are pot heads and stupid fights but all schools have that. What i got from going here is helpful and supportive teachers, who dont put alot of pressure on you to be an a+ student, great electives and fair rules. Granted yes the schools a bit crammed, ecspecially in the halls. But all in all its a pretty nice place to be.

Please do your family a favor and don't send your children here. As a former student, let me tell you, all this school is 60% wanna-be thugs, 20% drug addicts, and the rest are the normal students who barely get by as it is. THERE ARE SECURITY GUARDS EVERYWHERE. Why? because they're fights almost every week, if not every two weeks. There was once a day when 4-8 fights happened in one school day alone, nicknamed "fight day". more than half of the fights are staged because they "want to go home early" seriously. not a fan of this school, glad i moved.

No air conditioning and lots of students do drugs. Not a fan. School needs serious updating. The hallways are cramped and classes are overcrowded. Teachers emphasize on getting by instead of excelling. No motivation..
