I think Accompsett is a great school with a wonderful & caring staff. I have recently moved out of New York State to California. The public schools here are terrible. Many of you have complained about large class sizes. In California, 25 students in a 4-5th grade class would be considered small. Art, Phys ed 2x week, music, chorus, instrumental, computers these are considered extras in most schools here and students are lucky if they get to participate in some of them. Schools can only do so much. Parents need to step up and take some responsibility. Stop complaining and so something about it.

The class size for this school is too big and only one teach in a class. There is no full time teacher aid. All teachers are great, just not enough hands. When the class size is too big, it is hard for all kids pay attention. I am very disappointed!

All the administration at Accompsett seems to care about is test scores. Not the whole child. I am a disappointed parent.

I think that Accompsett is a good school, but I must point out that the class size is excessively large. I have never heard of a regular class in this school with less than 25 students in it. It is the major complaint of all the parents, and my daughter has personally suffered because of it. The teachers are great, but the class sizes are too big for them to do their job the best way possible.

This elementary school has way too many students and not enough teachers. They need to redistrict with the nearby Smithtown Elementary School and send some students their. The Board of Ed should make this an A-1 priority.
