Ok, so I'm currently a 7th grader in this school and here's the life of the middle school; 1. The teachers are AWESOME!!!! End of story. You know why? Because they care about us by giving us a chance to email them about work and stuff like that. They also ALWAYS have time for each student when they're in need of help! 2. The lunchroom (which is in the basement) is like a war zone. I'm serious!!!! Almost every other week there's a food fight, then the WHOLE middle school is on "lock-down", which means we're stuck in the same room for the ENTIRE day! 3. And last but not least the kids! I'll be honest with you, I came to this school in 5th grade, coming from a catholic school, and I'm very kind. But the kids here (well some of them) act as if they're 20 or something. There's PDA (public display of affection) going on by the 6th grade and up. EWWWW! But some of the kids are really smart and nice, while other's are OMIGOD EVIL AND ANNOYING!!!!!

My child was in PS 156 for the past 8 years. There is no leadershio at this school. Ms. Little needs to be fired she is inadaquet as a princpal. The school is overcrowed and in ruins. The teacher especially a Social Studies teacher by the name of Mr.loverme is CRAZY !!!!!!!!. My child really could have beneifited from being in a school close to home but she has not. I have since transferred out of this school and would not recommend it to anyone.

P.S. 156 is in need of true leadership. Noreen Little is an ineffective principal who does not discipline unruly students. She doesn't support her teachers; she places the entire burden of discipline on them. I also find it scandalous that this woman was reinstated as Principal of the school since she was arrested for falsifying business records in the State of New York in 2006. I hope one day she is removed & is replaced with a person who genuinely cares about his or her students.

This School is given a 3 star rating out of 5...and every other year the rating gets lower, the students are out of control, I feel sorry for the good teachers who are really trying...the 7th grade teachers should be the best, because thats the grade high schools choose from...but there are a few really poor 7th grade teachers....think about that when you consider sending your children here...don't be fooled by the nice looking neigborhood.

I wish this school was better but sadly it's the worst in the neighborhood. The principle and teachers are seperated for some reason leading to pure caos in the school. The children are bored and tear the school apart.Fighting bullying all out of control.Discipline is very laxed here and the children know it.

PS/MS156 has a dynamic progressive Principal who is committed to the quality of education her students receive and the success of the future of the students. The success of the school exist when ego's are left outside of the school building and a marriage with parents, teachers and community come together to ensure that the quality of education sits at the top of their priortiy. Principal Little is committed to this, how about you????

I am very disappointed with this school. Being a graduate of Springfield H.S, I dream of my children going to this school and then when it came about. I was very unsatisfied. I am currently looking for a school that is more organized, enthusiastic, energetic, and who wants to see that one of their scholars are the next President, Scientists, Doctor, Mayor, lawyer,Governor, Editor, e.t.c.

My daughter is in kindergarten and she had to attend this school by choice. So far within this current school year there has already been issues with gangs and a 6th grader bringing a loaded weapon to school. To make matters worse the new principal has a nasty attitude when you approach her especially when incidents happen and you hear about them or better yet receive notices three days later. My opinion is that there is no way this school can function with both middle and elementary schoolers. I am looking to transfer my daughter out due to the school lack of togetherness and the middle schoolers.
