Truly a neighborhood gem. Plan to keep daughter here (started at 2) until she ages out!! Good programs and e-mails to keep parents informed. Quality lessons but based on "play" - exactly what kids need when they're little! And no TVs or other "electronic-type devices" to entertain [babysit??] kids. The teachers are active and involved and the kids get to use their imaginations in learning! Friendly staff and management.

We're finishing up our daughter's two year experience here and I have to say I will never find another school like this. When we have our next baby this is where he/she will go. From the moment I walked in I had good vibes- friendly, warm atmosphere and lately- well, the future is looking mighty bright under new management who are finally doing something to spruce it up, looking good Little Friends, looking good. I HIGHLY recommend this preschool.

Returning here from another school for their summer camp (they didn't have UPK last year but from what I hear are bringing it back next year) and I must say I am so impressed! My daughter is having a blast, the school looks incredible now and it's wonderful to see the same welcoming faces of years past. My daughter and I couldn't be happier. I only wish my daughter's public school could offer the same attentiveness as Little Friends.

My son attended this school since he was almost 3 years old and did pre k there. I am happy with the attentiveness of his teachers. They were both great, patient and they helped me help him. The reason why I gave this school a 1 star is because administration was a different story. I was always given wrong information or given the brush off. Also another thing I didn't like was the new orientation towards an adult gym. The main room was converted from the main classroom to host Zumba and Yoga. The little closets are crammed in the hallways and some kids even have to share them. Totally disappointed. The school is changing and not for the best.

I switched schools a few months ago after hearing good things about the school from some moms at the park. I'm happy with the experience the school is giving my daughter, she comes home happy and loves her friends and teachers. Unlike the last place we were at there's a routine the children follow every day and separate organized classrooms. I find everyone very helpful and friendly. My daughter's teacher is the best!!! She is warm and my daughter has a good sense of people she trusts and took to her from the start. They're really the best around.

i heard a lot of goods things about the school and decided to enroll my daughter. but since she started a few months back i have seen very little dedication in the teachers and the staffs. they don't communicate with the parents and there is no organization. every time i ask questions they are always lost.

Having been working at the school for years I have seen its evolution over time. I'm very happy with the changes on the appareance of the school. The new management are working hard to give the children a cozy, bright and nice classrooms, healthier food and snack as well.Compare to other centers I feel we all share a common goal of helping and teaching children. I believe that if you enjoy what you're doing children will sence this and will be more likely to enjoy what there doing.Sometimes changes are not easy to process but if it's for the benefit of our little ones is worth it!

I too could not disagree more with the previous review. Yes, Mrs. Winter's retired, however, she was 80, I do believe it was time and am glad to know that she will still be involved in activities in Sunnyside. My family feels fortunate that these two new owners came in and took over a school that has been in the neighborhood for years. My husband attended Little Friends! Do you know what the other option was, A DEVELOPER! While there are changes that are being made, they have sent us letters and I am ok with that. My son is happy and says some new nice lady comes in and her favorite food is also French Toast too, which means she is communicating with the class, which is good to know. He also said she bought the entire class new blue cots today, he LOVED this. My son's teacher seems to be quite pleased with all that is taking place. She has said very nice and positive about the future of the school and the new leadership. Overall, I LOVE Little Friends and I am glad that my son has a place to learn, play and grow. My daughter will soon turn two and yes, she too will attend LIttle Friends.

Both of my children went here for preschool. They both loved it and were well prepared for kindergarten! Overall we had a great experience here.

The children seem eager to go to school at the start of the day, and they come out looking and acting like they learned something. The director and the staff are friendly, warm, open people, yet instill a sense of discipline and good manners.

My husband and I are extremely happy with this school (and our daughter as well). It is a very nurturing environment, a great experience for first exposure to school, and in our case other kids, as my daughter is an only child. The Director is excellent, parents can have as much interaction and guidance as they wish. This is not a pressure environment, the children are taught how to interact in a constructive manner - lessons which will be important thoughout their school years. Classes are small enough that everyone gets individual attention. There are plenty of activities, reading and class participation. We have had a great experience with this school and would highly recommend it. This is and excellent introduction for any child to the school experience and the world at large in a warm and protective way.

Little Friends school's most valuable asset is it's director. She is Terry Brazelton and 'Grandma' hen put together. She's generously shares her great experience about kids with a caring staff and any parent. No computers or phonics here, just a safe environment where kids find that learning new things is fun and being a good neighbor is nice.
