I have two kids who just transferred to Alden Terrace in September and I have to say that even though it is only October I am so happy my husband and I made the decision to leave NYC and move to Long Island, especially the neighborhood we chose to live. Alden Terrace is great. I am so pleased with the whole dynamic of Alden Terrace. Both my kids have not had one complaint since the first day of school. I am very pleased with the familiarity the principal and teachers have with everyone. I am very impressed with the PTA and the activities they put together. I am just all in all pleased with everything and I look forward for my kids' experience at Alden Terrace.
This is my son's last year at Alden Terrace. It has been a wonderful experience!! I am sad to see hom leave. His teachers, Gina Colica, Joanne Nostro, Michelle Valentino, Amy Spitaletta, Mr. Bahm, and Peter Crescitelli should all be commended for their hard work. I can't say enough about the principal, Amy Buchanan. She is amazing!!! She sincerely cares about all the children at her school, and treats them like family!!! She has high expectations for them, and I know my son will succeed in life having had Alden Terrace as his foundation.
Alden Terrace is the best!!! Miss B. is the most awesome principal ever. She inspires her students to persevere. Everyone is not good at everything - try your best at all times. At Alden excellence starts at the top and permeates throughout the ranks. My only regret is that parents don't help-out much. I guess because most everyone works or whatnot. However, take some time to focus on your child's job. It is a big part of their life for at least 180 days out of the year. Focus on making Alden the best environment for your child.
My children have attend Alden for the past 2 years. It is a great school indeed. The principle is extremely involve and seems to know each child by their name. My son is in 3rd grade and is continuely challenged by his teacher to strive for excellence. My 2nd child is in kindergarden and within a short time was reading and writing. His teachers not only teaches the basics but also teaches them life lessons on responsibility and respect. Kudos to Mrs McDermontt and Mrs. McGuire!
Alden Terrace is a very good school. The teachers care about the students, a good amount of parents are involved, should be more, and the Principle is top notch. She knows the students and the parents by name, very approachable and personal, if you have an issue that needs to be resolved her door is always open. I would recommend Alden terrace to my peers.
This is an excellent school, my brother went there 6 years ago and now my daughter has been there since kindergarten. The staff is wonderful and the principal really knows and cares to know her students.
I have to admit that at first I had misconceptions about this school, but as I got involved and saw the amount of effort and work force and money that they put into it I can tell you that it is a great school. Now I love it, and my child is even happier than the school she was in before, which was considered top of the list. I'd recommend it to anyone!
this is an excellent school. The principle is wonderful, she knows all of her students and the parents. If there is a problem and you call the school, it is taken care of right away. My oldest daughter started in 2nd grade and I never had a problem.
